Multi-Sport Racing Triathalons and Adventure Racing have been sweeping the nation at a phenomenal rate. Multi-Sport Racing is one of the few sports where just completing a race is often considered a victory. Learn all about this sport, post photos, meet potential teammates or brag about your performance in a race.

in your Raid the Rock effort this weekend. Go hard and don't hurt yourself. Hey, we can all follow your progress during the race at http://www.raidtherock.com/tracking.asp , but where's your team??

(Sarah, good luck in your volunteering effort as well...don't get writer's cramp when working the registration table. And if you get picked up, PLEASE don't overdo it - I can hear my surgeon now: "Remember, you had a big surgery.")

Hello, I have just learned about this race for the first time and have a team assembled. All aspects of the race should be no problem although I have one area I would like a little more info on and that is the rope work. Rappelling is no problem but could you tell me if there is any rock climbing or what all is involved as far as ropes? Rock climbing is something that we have no experience in so I would like to know if anything more then basic rappelling skills is needed. Thanks Dan

The ropes element of the race could be anything from rappelling, climbing, and/or traversing... However, basic rappelling skills are all you will need to know. The rope's sections of the race are staffed with professional ropes/climbing instructors to ensure that, whatever the ropes element might be, you are completely safe.

This is too fun...I had never heard of this before! BTW...interesting information on the site, especially:

Mandatory Team First Aid Kit

These first aid items must be carried by someone on each team at all times.

3 - 4x4 Gauze pads
1 Roll 1" waterproof medical tape or equivalent amount of duct tape
2 Ounces antibacterial ointment
3" Ace bandage
Moleskin/compeed (enough for all three competitors)
2 Safety pins
3 Doses of painkiller (Tylenol, aspirin, etc)
3 Doses of anti-inflammatory (ibuprofen, etc)
Tweezers
Sunscreen lip balm

I would recommend sunscreen as well....

I checked in about 12:00 today which is about 7 hours into the race. The team is pretty bloodied up from racing through the trees and whatnot in the dark. The good part though is that they are at 4th place right now!!!
I am pretty shocked considering how little time JP gets to workout. The top three teams are people that train daily and even though JP is a trainer (some of the time) he doesn't get much time for it anymore. I am hoping he gets even less time and that he'll be busy helping at home... but I digress.

Anyway, last I heard, they had to make a boat out of a barrel and use it to get across a small part of water.

I do think they will win for best looking team.
