With a little under three months until Raid... I'm starting to feel the pressure. Where should I be in my training program? What should my body be capable of? I know I am asking a subjective question, but I just need a baseline of where I should be. It's coming down to crunch time. Twelve weeks... that's not very long, and I'm starting to feel behind the game.

Hey Sarah,
The training ride/hike that I am planning for next Friday should be perfect to help you gauge yourself. We are hoping to start our ride some time around 7-8pm, and ride/hike/run all night till 8am the following morning. It is a good test of your ability to stay awake through the "wee" hours and keep your body moving (all while maintaing your sense of humor).
BTW, I thought I saw you running on the road today while I was driving down Kavanaugh, so I turned around and pulled ahead to say hi, but alas and allack, it was not you. The woman gave me a rather cross look actually. Oh well, I was just trying to be nice. She just thought I was some ogler I guess.

Hey all - So how did the overnite training go? Wish I could have been there. Have you planned anymore? I'm ready to get ready for the next race. Totally up for the upcoming season.

You got it ! Back from whitewater rafting, hiking the smokies and swimming in cold streams. Ate too much on the trip and need to get back to serious training!
So what about the overnite training ?

HEY JOE!!! Great to have you back! When are you going to start using that membership you have up here?
About last weekend... I was still pretty sick so I didn't do the overnight thing. I did however get up at 6am on Saturday and do exactly one-half of the workout that nearly killed us last year. Same bike route out to the visitor center, ran to the base of Pinnacle, up the steep side, down the front, but this time I had Erika come out and pick us up instead of running and riding all the way back. I was still sick so I didn't want to push it too hard. It was still a pretty intense workout for me. I am out of town from Wed to Fri, so why don't we plan some sort of training ride for Sat or Sun, and do an overnighter next weekend. One little caveat... My knees are starting to give me problems, which they have NEVER done before. I think I really am getting old (dammit!).

I'm up for a ride Saturday morning. Maybe something long like all the way around the lake and then a hike over pinnicle. Talk to me about your knees. I blew my right knee in the navy. As long as I keep my weight down I do okay but I wear a brace when training. No, you are not getting old, It's impossible since I am older than you.
