Default A Different Kind of Tri

Lisa and I did the 40 Acres of Hill Tri in Russellville, AR this morning. It was a little different but in a good way. It started with a 5.5 mile run that was both on and off road. At around mile 3 we had a really tough uphill. It then went to kayaking on flat water for about 3 miles in some not so swift kayaks. The race finished on a 17 mile road bike ride over a very hilly area North of town.

I tried my best to beat Lisa but she would have none of it. I was able to keep her in my sights the whole race but couldn't close on her. She finished the race in around 2:45 and I was about 3 minutes behind her. No podium for me today but Lisa got 3rd in the Woman's group. We may have to try this one again.

Damn! Beat by a girl again!

Sounds like a fun one.

If you have to be beat by a girl, make it your girl.

It involves SWIMMING- I will feel lucky to make it out of the water alive It's not about beating you. It's about beating fear. And maybe beating you.

E-
Kayak: talked to a girl during the run (yeah I know, why are you talking DURING the run?) who had never kayaked in her life. She did just fine. If you ever see one of these in your area-you should totally do it! At least for this race-it was really down to the bike and run times. It's hard to make a lot of time in a solo kayak on flat water.
