Default Lavaman 2008...COMPLETE

Well the race was this morning, and as expected it was another great day for racing. The bike turned out to be a little windy, but still very fun!

Let's cut right to the chase...

Drew's 2008 Results

Swim (1.5km) - 32:18 (2:02/100m; 217th best swim)
T1 - 2:21
Bike (40km) - 1:12:07 (20.6 mph; 86th best bike)
T2 - 0:53
Run (10km) - 42:47 (6:54/mile; 29th best run)
TOTAL - 2:30:23 (63rd out of 800+)

Lauren's 2008 Results

Swim (1.5km) - 34:46 (2:11/100m; 304th best swim)
T1 - 2:19
Bike (40km) - 1:18:48 (18.9 mph; 200th best bike)
T2 - 1:26
Run (10km) - 54:22 (8:46/mile; 181st best run)
TOTAL - 2:51:39 (184th out of 800+)

Drew's 2007 Results
Swim (1.5km) - 33:15 (2:05/100m; 325th best swim)
T1 - 2:46
Bike (40km) - 1:10:12 (21.2 mph; 88th best bike)
T2 - 0:43
Run (10km) - 45:03 (7:16/mile; 52nd best run)
TOTAL - 2:31:56

Overall I'm pleased with my results, however my bike was slower than last year's time. It did seem a little more windy this year than last year, but I don't want to make excuses. I was planning on running a little bit faster, but apparently I had forgotten how tough this run course is (2 miles worth of lava rock and sand). I'm glad that I did better than a 7 minute mile pace though. My wife had a great swim and did much better on the bike than when she did the St. Patty's Day race just a few weeks ago...which is extra impressive since this bike was on a tougher course and twice as far. She started cramping in the run, which explains her time. She's typically similar to me in the run times, but she said she had to stop a few times to stretch out her cramping muscles. I'm still very proud of her.

I'll post pics when they become available.

Thanks guys! I'm feeling surprisingly good right now...I was completely exhausted after the race yesterday, but I'm really not sore at all.

Still waiting on the pixxors Fish, but will post as soon as they're available.
