Metroplex Sprint Triathlon
I just got done with the Metroplex Sprint Triathlon. It was a great day for racing (maybe a little hot, but otherwise a great day). I was especially fired up for this race because it is the first event that I have done twice (therefore can directly compare my results from the year before).
Race Info:
Swim = 800m in open water
Bike = 27km
Run = 5km
My times were as follows:
2007
Swim: 15:09.1 (1:54/M)
T1: 1:41.0
Bike: 44:50.6 (22.4 mph)
T2: 0:48.7
Run: 21:13.6 (6:48/mile)
GRAND TOTAL: 1:23:43.0
2006
Swim: 18:21.4
T1: 2:39.3
Bike: 50:24.7
T2: 1:11.1
Run: 22:33.3
GRAND TOTAL: 1:35:10
As you can tell, I made some serious improvements from last year. I was surprised that my bike was so much better this year, but obviously I was pretty pumped about that. I expected my swim to be much better (still with plenty of room for improvement) and my run to be a little better.
All in all, I am very satisfied with this race. This sthould leave me with plenty of confidence for my next Olympic distance event next month.

I know very little about biking and even less about swimming, but I do know that a 21:00 5k is nothing to sneeze at. Very impressive doing it after swimming and biking. Nice going.

Good luck in your sprint this weekend...I can't wait to read the report! Hopefully your times are just a bit slower than mine!
