Joining a Tri Club...
I just put an email out to join the Steamboat Springs Triathlon Club. A bit nervous, as I've never really done group training before, but Fish's post about his group ride got me inspired. I'll let you all know what it's about. Does anyone have an experience with local tri clubs????

I looked into ones around here, one is based out of the university and a little to expensive for my blood right now.
The other I contacted is a loose group of people. They have a members only message board. They only want people who are dedicated, and un fortunately as of yet my time and their one workout I know about (8am half way across town) is very hard for me to get to, if I don't have anything to do on Saturday, so I guess for now they are out too.
Good luck with yours!
I think having people to cycle with, or to watch your swim stroke would be awesome.
Og.

Sweet dude! How did you find them. Don't worry about the group thing--athletes are the most accepting lot (outside of my church) I have found. My thought is: everyone has been where you are, and most remember it. Very cool you won't have to make all the mistakes they did.

You know thats the most puzzling thing about the second group I contacted, it's almost like they have been contacted by a million people who they did alot for and then never showed up.
The lack of warm reception by them, or at least by the contact guy has benn kind of a turn off.
My exprience on-line with you guys and the info I hear, the group seemed pretty un-approachable. Seems strange they wouldn't offer other workouts I might be able to get in on etc.
Oh well.

That thought had crossed my mind as well, but between work and going back to school as well as spending time with Shannon, which I am not giving up for organzing training, I doubt I would have time to set anything up.
Although I could stick in a classified ad and see if anyone is looking for a begginner partner.
