This is something I wrote for my 1000th post:

Just Give it a Tri...

Hope this helps. Keep in mind why you are doing it, to have fun! Enjoy it.

Decide on a length and then decide on a race. emartin covers alot in his post so I don't have alot to add, as I am strictly new to this as well!

I'm not following a particular program and am aiming towards a shorter than sprint tri to get me feet wet, and if it dosen't kill me, a sprint one later in the year.

Have fun! Keep a log!

Og hit them all, in order of importance, too. The best way to do it is to do it. Learn lots--confidence counts.

Triathlons are definitely the most fun you can have getting your butt kicked.

One triathlon and you'll be addicted. Ogedei's log in the Training Log section is a great of example of weekly workouts prepping for a tri...give it a peek.

Hey Fish, What was the date of your first Tri? You posted the race report on the 30th of May. Did you race it the weekend before? That's almost exactly one year before I am doing mine. Crazy!

Og.
