Had a quick 30 minute run yesterday - in the snow. Nothing special, but it was much better than my last run up here, so for that, I'm thankful.
Today, I had a swim this morning:
WU: 4x75 (last 25 in each is backstroke)
Set: 3x400 EBEH
Cool Down: 150 easy
Easy day in the pool. I have a 60 minute bike ride planned as well. Should be a nice afternoon after I handle all the coffee shop schtuff.

God, I've been a big time slacker, in both posting and training. I started feeling flu-ish after the swim mentioned above, and bailed on the bike ride. I ended up taking the next day off to make sure I was feeling better.
I rode for just under 3 hours on Saturday, about 1 hour of that was a really tough climb. My legs are STILL fried. It was a great ride with my training partner, who I don't see much anymore since I've been in Steamboat so much. We did a 30 minute time trial at the end which was BRUTAL!
I ran for 35 minutes on Sunday - which was disasterous. I was supposed to run for 60 minutes, but I just didn't have it in me. I don't know what was going on, but I'd bet it was nutrition. Just a hunch.
I missed workouts today, LAME! It started to dump snow when I was heading to the pool. I usually swim through snow, but this was bad - so I have 2-a-days for the next 3 days to make up for it. Fun.
In other news, some coffee shop stuff blew up today, the guy selling started to be a dick and really acted like he was hiding things (like the amount of money he owes around town) and refused to a) divulge the fact that he owes, and b) transfer a few leases on equipment - so we pulled the plug. We are going basically go around him and lease the space once he has to bail on his own lease, and buy our own equipment. So not TOO bad, but stressful.
Anyway, now you are up to date, and tomorrow, I promise to talk pure training!

Sorry about the workouts and the shop E. I'm sure you will get it worked out. Did you ever decide on a name?
Oh yeah, and if you are going to train at that level you better eat right!

Sucks about the training, I know you'll get back to it though, glad to see you're not dead! Ok really I thought the coffee shop might be stealing your time.
As for the coffee shop. Sucks he's being a dick, but you are probably making the right move. If your dedicated to opening the shop, worse case scenario is you find a totally new location.
Og.

Thanks guys. It will all work out. We're going to approach it as a purely equipment sale now that he's not willing to open up ANY financial information. Sucks for him.
And yeah, my workouts and diet will come around now that we are moved into our new apt. But the crappy thing is that it's snowing outside and I have to try to ride today. More trainer time...

What? he's picked a name and not told us!? That's BS!
The snow will end eventually. We had a light snowfall saturday morning, but by Sunday after my brick I was on the deck enjoying a smoothie and a book

Hang in there, E. I'm sure you don't want to hear it, but I'd love to hang out in a little snow!

Yeah, it's turning into a nice day, so as soon as lunch digests, I'm out.
And I announced the name on the first Fitcast, but I guess it didn't make it (my computer has been down so I haven't been able to listen). Anyway, it's the Global Grind (courtesy of Mahler).

Update of the past 2 days.
Yesterday. Hill repeats on Rabbit Ears Pass. 20 minute warm up, 4 sets of 5 minutes up, 1 minute down, 20 minute cool down. Followed very closely by a 30 minute recovery swim and a few cold beers. My legs were jello today.
Today. Swim:
Warm up - 200 continuous
Set: 1x2000 RPE 4 (can we all say UGH together now?)
Cool Down: 4x50
Followed by a 22 minute recovery run (supposed to be 30 minutes but I bonked).
Great training the past few days, and another tough day tomorrow. I'm getting back into it!!!

54 minute run today, and man is it beautiful out. Nothing special, but my knees held up today, they felt great, so I'm stoked!
Oh, and hear that??? That's a balloon popping. Our coffee shop fell through - the guy started to get really demanding and refused to show us ANY financial data (books, tax returns, anything!). We told him we wouldn't buy the business from him, but we'd offer him 5 grand for the assets. He told us that was an insult and wished us the best. We've been trying to get rid of him for about a week, so I had to turn into an asshole to do it, but meh. We're talking to the landlord now about taking the spot when the guy we were buying from gets kicked out.
So that's that.

Keep an eye out for it dude. It may still happen. But if it doesn't it may be for the best. Sounds like the guy may have been running a screwed up business. Any other prospects out there?

Joe - he was running the most screwed up business I've ever seen - and I've audited some really messed up places. And he had the nerve to call us unprofessional for offering what we did at about 3 different occasions.
We talked to the landlord of the space, and told him once he kicks this dude out, we want it. He was really cool with it. So we shall see!
