Me.

I even took the bike out yesterday, although it was colder than I thought and I only got about 5km in and gave up. Returned home and submerged my fingers in luke warm water. I apparently need better gloves.

Supposed to get above zero this week though! I am planning on trying out the forerunner today as well!

My first race is a beginner one.

500m swim, 16km ride, 3km run.

Over the weekend I committed to doing a 12 hour MTB relay with 3 other women at the same Spa Extreme Weekend of the off road duathlon will be held. I'd like to do both. These races are the weekend after we move into our new house. We, are certifiable.

Get over to the bike forum and help me out. Once I have a bike, I will be much more likely to commit. That, plus I need to learn to swim!

Thanks Fish, I will take a look for those at the lbs, although money is a little tight at the moment. If I can ride in the colder temps it might be worth the investment.

Go to Performance, Nashbar, etc online. You can get them at a discount, and you might even run into an end of season sale...

I froogled too Fish...The $40.00 was for the shoe covers. Not bad for those either.

It's supposed to be above freezing today and up to +10 on the weekend!

I CAN NOT WAIT!

I will probably have to pass on the gloves unless my tax return is monstrous. I will keep them in mind for the next time I have some extra cash!

http://www.momentumcycles.com/main.asp

but its in 2 months! yikes! However since my wife doesn't have a road bike it might be our best option.

Oh you all know I'm in. My A race is a half Ironman mid-August - which means my 20 week training plan starts next Monday. I just got back to Colorado last night from 6 months in Australia, so that means I have 1 week to adjust to the altitude....And it's snowy out....Brrrrr.....

I'm off for a spin on my bike. I haven't seen her for a while.

Thanks guys! No dingos, but I did pee on a really big kangaroo on accident. I was quite scared I was going to get all my ribs broken.

Joe, I'm trying to get my lungs in shape for the retreat so I can actually run up the hills!

Fish - are you doing multiple tris this year? What distances are you doing? This is year 2, right?

Guys, I can't tell you how glad I am to be back on a more stable basis. I got to check the forum 3 times today, that's amazing!! Good to get on here and read up...

Thinking about doing a longer Tri this year. I'm pretty sure I can handle the longer bike and run, but not sure about the swim. This is year 2 for me.

Ok, we are commited. Its no tri, but its a du, still worried about our swimming.

I have 2 months to get ready. I ran 3.5 miles yesterday for the first time in about 2 months. Man I was slow. I have some work to do.

Du rock! I'm currently working with a race organizer in Arkansas to start doing more of them at the state parks.

I ran yesterday too. Timed, not distance, for twenty minutes with 5 minute cool down. I am slow, and it hurts, but I'm not going to quit.

I went for 35 min, got in like 3.6 miles. I had the dog with me too. She is great for pacing me. Every time I would slow down too much I would get the look like "am I going to have to break my trot and start walking beside you?"

I did my first tri in 2003...did three of them that season. They were varying lengths, but less than an olympic distance. Then had some foot injuries and had to take 2004 off. I was able to get in one tri last September. I'm committed to doing at least three this season. The first is April 9...a sprint distance, so shouldn't be too difficult.

So we did some running and riding this weekend. Enough to know that we can complete this already. We just have to get faster.

My question is this. We have been sticking to a pretty tough weights scedule lately. I'm going to try to run and/or bike 6 days a week untill this thing is here. Should I dump the weights? Move to something 2 or 3 days a week for maint? Or just continue our 4 day a week split?

Chris - Check into BamaDaves log in the training log section. He does a lot of lifting and is an awesome runner. He may be able to help you out.
