Angry

How do you stay focus ,on your goals when you life is turined up side down ?
Do you use anger, or just work throught it?
Why this qustion ? My wife might be preginet , but i don't have a job to support my family. I feel so lost . maybe you men and women can help.

Tempist,
Do you have anything preventing you from taking a job? Sounds like that would be the first order of business. Second, anger doesn't help. Maybe a little tiny bit will add some intensity to you, and light a fire under your butt to get serious about taking care of that family. Don't think, ACT! Sounds like fitness, although important, may be something you should put off for a couple of weeks while you beat the streets.

It is great to have goals, but each one should be assigned a value and prioritized. Supporting a family is much higher priority to having big biceps. When you have children you [should] cease to be the center of your own universe. There will be time to get back into your program and your goals. Once you get a battle rhythm established you will begin to see where you can stake out your "quality-me-time." It may be stressful at the moment, but I can tell you unequivocally that children are the greatest gift in the universe. You really haven't lived till you start your own family. Don't bog yourself down with the bleakness of your current situation. You have something more important to fight for now so go out there and create opportunities for yourself! Good luck.

Since you said you feel lost and asked for help, please accept my advice in the spirit intended: GET OFF THE COMPUTER AND GO TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS NOW!

By the way, where are you accessing this forum from? Home? Library?

If you are serious about getting a handle on this situation, listen to JP. ACT! If you sit around wondering and worrying, you'll only sink lower. Anger is NOT the answer unless, as JP said, you use it to motivate yourself to do better.

Just curious, mind telling us how old you are, how long have you been married, is your wife working, what is your past work experience (profile shows cab operator), what it is that you are looking for work doing, where have you tried looking for work, what do you want to do, do you have the prerequisites for the kind of work you want to do? ... all that stuff

Sorry to put you on the spot Tempist but I'd be happy to give you my advice if I knew more what your circumstances are. Also, I'd be just as happy to pass over your posts if you're really just yankin' my chain.

Thanks, for all that you had to say. I was out looking for a job. I have some good lead's.
I am going back to school for the winter semester. It is a retraining class at the community college. The class will train me in a diferent field ,other than the one that i was in.
As for if my wife is pregnant. That is still up in the air, she is still two week's away from taking the hame pregnancy test.
I can gain access from home, and at michigan works, or at the library.
thanksyou
mike
