Default low states

Do you ever wake up in a low state?
I used to just notice and do nothing. My days would stay low. Things wouldn't work well. Now that I have the knowledge about how to get in a better mental state I do my affirmations and the day changes immediately. There are some days when I choose to stay low. Isn't that weird?
Do you ever choose to stay in a low state? Do you do it to attract sympathy, attention? Does it ever get tiring handling things well?
Sunday afternoons make me wonder.

Yeah, there are times where I wake up in either a grumpy or depressed mood. It helps usually if I have an idea of why I'm feeling that way. If it was a bad dream or a bad night's sleep, or just overall fatigue, I try to correct it and move on. (extra coffee, nap, early dodo, etc)

When I'm particularly irritable for no apparent reason (and notice myself being not so nice) I try to tell myself that I'm being grumpy because of me, not the person who's irritating me, and that usually forces me to be a bit less snippy(even when I feel like I still want to be).

But there are times when I'm just blah and it has to wear off on its own. Usually doing something fun/distracting helps, but it has to be something I decide to do (as opposed to someone trying to perk me up).

I do notice too that getting some sunlight really helps my mood. Being outside or even inside looking out on a beautiful, crisp, day always helps my mood. Long stretches of cloudy days can get me down. Supposedly halogen lights are good substitutes for light on crappy days.

I think on the days you're allowing yourself to be down, you probably just need some time to regenerate and give yourself a break. Perhaps you're not drawing enough internal energy to turn it around. And I'm sure some of it is hormonal, unfortunately...

affirmations are powerful, afterall, in most cases we can choose how we're going to feel/react to certain situations.

good luck...lots of rambling on my part.

Much more so when I was younger, for some reason. I learned that doing something for someone else seems to work for me... takes the focus off "me" I suppose. Since this is the time of Thanksgiving, it makes it easier to remember. I woke up that way this morning, coincidentally, but was able to get past it fairly quickly.

I almost always wake up with a smile. But things during the day get me down quite easily, and I don't get passed them quickly.. I'll check the next couple of times it happens if anywhere within me I "choose" to stay down..

I used to get what I call black moods. I learned to handle them a little and they became gray moods. When my wife got sick I became overwhelmed and the moods became black. At this point in my life I don't have time for them. I'm too busy and they don't seem to come. There's probably a lesson in there.
What affirmations do you use Galya? How do they work to make you feel better?

I use different affirmations, like "every day I find exciting ways to better health" or "every day I feel better and better about my business" or "every daY I get better and better at pull ups", whatever comes to mind. As long as it's positive it gets me out of the state.
recently, I've been focused on things I am grateful for, if I start my day thinking about a few things I am grateful for that puts me in a positive state.
