Had there been any decent MSM articles on Cris Santos in the lead-up to the Strikeforce card, I would have linked to them, but I think Strikeforce dropped the ball on promoting her properly. (Or they couldn't pay their PR people enough to do a good job on both fighters.)

Hope they do a better job with her for her next fight, which I am very much looking forward to seeing.

I particularly liked the part of her immediate-post-fight interview that went something like this:
Interviewer: "What was the key to your victory tonight?"
Cristiane (Cyborg) Santos: “Five years of hard work."

Even though Santos won the fight Carano will still probably get more publicity. The media loves Carano. A kind of hot chick who has some fighting skills is medias dream come true. This fight got major media attention in fact i found more references to this fight than I did Jones fight with Lacy. This may seem kind of odd as JOnes is one of the greatest boxers of all time and he has been in the limelight for many many years. But MMA is outshining boxing at the moment. Personally I love to watch both sports but I don't think Carano has earned the right to be getting the type publicity as a figure such as Roy Jones Jr.

As far as the fight Carano gassed and when she was taken down and I use the words taken down loosely she took a beating. Cyborg's taken downs did not look good and had she been fighting a good ground fighter she would have probably been in trouble with her first two take down attempts. But she may have approached those take downs in a different manner. Carano's take down attempt was very weak. The fight was very exciting.
