Kimbo vs Shamrock Tonight
So who ya got?
My head says Kimbo but my heart says... Kimbo. Shamrock rolls up like a yoga mat these days, but no matter as there are some real fights on the card.
The undercard match of Arlovski vs Roy Nelson should be good (Arlovski via TKO I'm thinking), and the Jake Shields/Daley and Ninja Rua fights should be good.
You guys see Gina Carano weigh in sans-clothing? Disappointing

Ferguson defeats Shamrock via ref stoppage due to cut over eye.
As for the rest: Carano, Arlovsky, Shields, Radach, Santos.
I know Santos isn't on the main card, but the Santos fight and the Carano fight are the two that interest me most.
No opinion on the rest of the undercard.

Can't wait for arlovski vs nelson! I'm hoping kimbo vs shamrock goes past 1 round. I like to think of myself as a somewhat educated MMA who wouldn't be interested in seeing the main event but I am so damn intrigued by this fight, I really can't wait.

Gee, look what happens when Kimbo has to fight someone decent. As for Carano, saw the teaser pics, trolled Google Images for many more, killed an hour at work

that was funny.
and Jake Shields needs to stop with GSP bullshit. that masterfully set-up armbar which took 5 minutes to execute from full mount wont get you very far in a fight with GSP. hell, it wont get you far with Thiago, Kos, Diego, or Fitch.

didn't see the undercard. mostly dissapointed. the first fight was good. women's was ok but the 3min thing is gay.
Pitbull just showed that he's just not quite top tier any more. If it weren't for the bullshit stand up in the first I think Nelson would have won. Hell, if Nelson wasn't 80lbs overweight he probably would have won.
Shields a top 10 WW....no way.
I still can't figure out who the guy is that beat (down) Kimbo. He's ranked 475th in the LHW's?

A jab while standing on one leg, moving backward, put Kimbo down...
People underestimate Nelson though - I don't think Arlovski looked bad. He carried out his strategy and got the TKO. He'll do fine against whomever they put him against, aside from Fedor

I have watched the YouTube video several times now, and I still can't figure out what Kimbo was hit with. All I see is a half-assed front thrust kick and a "heisman-trophy" hand to the face.
Of course, after that he was punched half-a-dozen times in the melon

Maybe one of his balding braids was too tight and he passed out while lunging forward.

Seriously...WTF is that all about?? Do they seriously think women can't go for more than 3 mins?

It was glorious...
The reason for the womens 3 minutes is as sidonia said but also the lack of 'interest' and competitors in the womens division. I think they are trying to change it so that profesional womens bouts are 3, 5 minute rounds, and amateur bouts are 3, 3 minute rounds (like the male counterparts) I would love to see the pro bouts go 5minutes

I'd be less interested too if every time the round was getting good you pulled the fighters apart after 3 mins...it's frustrating to watch...lol
I hope they change it to 3, 5 minute rounds. I think you'll see far better fighting.
