Especially since Kawajiri lost. Watching Kawajiri and Ishida lose brings me much joy.

I hope they give Alvarez the title shot first. I think that'd be the right thing to do.

After the final Hansen brought Alvarez into the ring and said he wants him to get the first shot. Coupla tough as nails guys right there!

Yes, finally, thank goodness.
That fight went a long way towards erasing the memory of the Arlovski - Werdum snoozefest (UFC 70) from April 2007.

Mich
(who knows it was a rhetorical question but couldn't resist...)

A lot of people are saying Hansen doesn't deserve the title, but they should give the guy some credit. He did beat Aoki for it which none of the other top guys have been able to do in a while. And he is a good sportsman and a warrior. You know he's going to want to prove himself by giving the other guys their chance to take the title from him. Hansen vs Alvarez II should be awesome.

The guy has 16 wins and 12 of them went to a decision, including that robbery against Melendez. Ishida doesn't actually fight, he doesn't really do damage or make much of an attempt to finish, he just holds onto his opponent and tries to win by control which, imo, is a cop out and not worthy of a real fighter. Until he starts finishing guys I will dislike him as a fighter. This dog is doing his imitation of Ishida in the ring:

Good points. I didn't know too much about him.

BTW, did you guys notice Uno crying before the fight with ayoki. You got to love that kind of passion.

Thanks. Except I said "consolated" when I meant "consoled". lol I must've been hit in the head too many times.

Ya, you gotta love that. Uno has been a bit underrated for a while. It looks like he's back in the groove of being a top 10 LW again.

Yup. People on every MMA board I read. It seems to be a mix of people thinking he deserved it because "thems the rules", some that aren't sure he deserves it but are ok with it but are glad for him because they like Hansen, and those that think he doesn't deserve it at all because he lost to Alvarez and fought a tired Aoki.

Personally I'm somewhere between the first two groups. I think he deserves it because those are the rules and he did beat Aoki (coming into a fight tired because your last fight went to UD is your own damn fault), but I do think he should have to defend it against Alvarez first. I'm glad for Hansen though because I've always loved him. He is a viking warrior...and we both know Hansen vs Alvarez II will probably as much of a classic as the first one was. They were both close to winning several times and there's no guarantee Alvarez will take the rematch.
