Fight Science on NatGeo Tonight
In case someone here didn't know, there is a new series starting tonight on Natiional Geographic channel called Fight Science.
It's going to do a comparitive study of both MMA fighters and special ops soldiers. It looks interesting.
It starts at 7pm Central Time.

I have it marked for DVR.
Have you seen "Sports Science"? There were 2 1hr episodes back-to-back yesterday on NG channel - same sort of thing but looking at specific forces in sport: blind-side tackle, head butting, vertical leap. If you missed it, check your listings to see if it replays - it was pretty interesting.

There is one that preceeds the two 1hr FS episodes. I'll need to move quickly and get my workout in before that.

I liked it. I only got to see the first Thursday because I took that one off from work.
Anyway, it taught me a bit about the way they fight and why many of the rounds end up on the ground.
Even more amazing, were the special ops soldiers. The one SEAL who sat in 50-55 degree water for 45mins and his core temp never got down to the desired point. And then, he goes through the obstacle course, taking only a 1+ second longer then before, and hits the target with dead center, still!

I saw both those shows are really good. The Seal was just out of his mind intense, the Israeli guy doing the heat test was crazy tough.
I hated training with wet suits dropping weight for fights was always one of the hardest things to do preparing for upcoming events.
