Default My newest trainer...

is a recently turned pro MMA fighter. He just joined up the forums, so hopefully we'll get him to participate in this place. Here's a pic just taken 3 days ago. Mike "The Juggernaut" Wessel

He's 255 with the speed of a middle weight. He's 10-1 so far (the one was from an event where he fought three fights in one night, his third match against a fresh fighter).

He was a strength coach for the Razorbacks for the last couple of years too. Nutt's departure allowed him to come on full time with me.

His next fight is here in LR on January 12th.

Sweet! Wish I could have him as my trainer. He looks kind of intimidating though...

I met him last week, and aside from his solid (read massive ) physique, you wouldn't think he was the mean fightin' type. He was quite helpful at the gym. He even taught me how to swing the sledge hammer on the 18 wheeler tire

Tonight's the night... He is fighting in his 12th bout. We have about 25 people between my staff and friends going to attend. He's pretty confident.

I tried messing with him the other day, tried to punch in him the gut unexpected. Needless to say, his reflexes are keen and his training is good. With speed I can hardly comprehend, he block, delivered three (thankfully pulled) punches to my body and neck, and had me in some sort of hold that I could not escape from, and where he honestly could have killed me with the slightest effort if he applied any pressure.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to be his opponent tonight. Should be fun to watch.

Holy Shiiite! He CRUSHED the guy in the first round. No messing around... Just pounded the crap out of him. It was really hard to believe that a guy who weighs 257 could move that fast. He seriously has the speed of a middle weight!

I shot a crappy video of it on my cell phone... I'll post it later.

I checked out the results, and on his intro it says he is the Arkansas Razorbacks S&C coach. Do you know if he has any plans, or offers to get into a better fight organization?

He plans to work for me and continue to advance in fighting as far as he can, getting fights with higher ranked fighters.

The place that he trains, Westside MMA, had about a ten fighters in this competition, and only two lost narrowly. I'd say this bodes well for their future since they obviously know how to train excellent fighters.
