Yeah as long as GSP show's up and not that guy that lost to Serra!

kinda sucks though, now we never will get to see matt serra "beat matt huges ass" as he would say. GSP is gunna kick him in the face again.
I don't think that would have been a good fight. This is a much better match up. And even if Serra was still in and won (yeah right), Hughes has said that he's only got a couple more fights. Im ready for the UFC champion domination.
BJ Penn Lightweight
GSP Welterweight
Silva or Henderson Middleweight. Im still undecided on who will win this fight
Rampage Light Heavyweight
??? Heavyweight
not sure if anyone in the HW cat is good enough to dominate the division right now, will have to wait and see how the whole Couture v White pans out ;p.

Arlovski is coming back, that man was the real deal, problem was he shaved off his chest and back hair, it was the source of his power. Didnt Dana promise him a title shot after his last fight? God Id love to see him and Kongo go at it.
Ya. Crocop has seemed to be highly motivated in his recent interviews. Time will tell if that's sincere though. If he comes in like his old self he should do very well. Kind of a big if right now though.

The rumors are that they've been shelving Arlovski since he only has one fight left on his contract. I don't know if that's true or not though. I don't think Arlovski deserves a title shot. His last performance sucked pretty bad. I'll even go so far as to say if Crocop truly does have his motivation back he will beat Arlovski pretty bad. I actually think Kongo could beat Arlovski too.

I just can't get excited about this replay. Probably in part because I never thought of Serra as a legit champ - I mean all he did was come off a reality show and get one win.
So now these two battle it out for what...
With no HW or LW champ to boot I'm much more interested in the K-1 finals, the Yarrennoka card and M-1.
Though Wandy vs Chuck is still gonna be damn fun to watch.

I just want to see GSP beat Hughes ass again. Chuck vs Wanderlei should be great. So you're not interested in Sokodjou vs Machida? I think that should be a good fight. Definitely more interested to see how the Yarrennoka event goes though.

FYI, this month's Men's Fitness has a cover and piece about Serra and Hughes. Plus a nice sidebar on my favorite, Couture, and just how hard he does train.
Was it any good kaiser? I'm not sure how good the Chuck vs Wanderlei will be. I haven't been to impressed with Chuck lately, but we'll see, I hope he comes ready to brawl.
It was OK. It highlighted their training, Serra's TV stuff, and the origins of their dislike for each other. It also talked about boxers who were talking smack (Merriweather was one, I think) saying that if these guys could box, they would, but they wouldn't last a round in a ring with boxers. Interesting stuff, to say the least.
I actually don't care for Couture's fighting style, but the fact that the guy is 44 years old and beat Sylvia, a guy 13 years his junior, is pretty impressive.
I think Silva will take Chuck out in the 2nd or 3rd round in the real main event.
GSP over Hughes via superior training (bodybuilding and basketball?)
Sokoudjou over Machida but see Machida taking it if it goes the distance.

I'm still unsettled on Silva vs. Liddell. The octagon is different from the ring, and I'm not sure if Silva will be prepared for the difference. My gut is telling me Silva, but if Liddell does win, I wont be surprised at all.
Main Card
Matt Hughes vs. Georges St. Pierre - GSP
Chuck Liddell vs. Wanderlei Silva - Silva
Lyoto Machida vs Rameau Sokoudjou- Sokoudjou
Rich Clementi vs. Melvin Guillard- Guillard
Soa Palalei vs. Eddie Sanchez- Sanchez
Preliminary Bouts
Luis Cane vs. James Irvin- Cane
Nate Mohr vs. Manny Gamburyan- Gamburyan
Jordan Radev vs. Dean Lister- Lister
Roan Carneiro vs. Tony DeSouza
Mark Bocek vs. Doug Evans
As long as Gamburyan's shoulder is healed he will win.
GSP by referee stoppage, I highly doubt this fight will go to a decision.
Silva over Liddell - I'm going with Wanderlei KO Rnd 2. It really wouldn't surprise me if either of these guys won since they can both knock each other out in the blink of an eye. But I think Silva is hungrier and Chuck has been (as predicted) exposed as having trouble with guys that are good strikers. Chuck still has a good shot at winning but he better have eaten his wheaties.
GSP over Hughes - GSP is a complete fighter. Hughes isn't really a threat other than his ability to dry hump the fight out of someone until a decision or get the occasional submission. KO Rnd 3.
Sokoudjou over Machida - This'll be a hard fight for Soko since Machida has such a dangerous unorthodox style, but I think he'll pull it out. If he can keep a hold of him for any length of time that'll probably be it. KO Rnd 3.
Guillard over Clemente - Guillard has a ton of speed and talent. He'd be an idiot to come into this fight like he did against Stevenson.
Palalei over Sanchez
Cane over Irvin
Gamburyan over Mohr - If I was Mohr I'd work the crap out of that shoulder.
Lister over Radev
I don't know enough about the other fighters to venture a decent pick. This should be a great card though.

What do you guys think of Silva's metabolic circuits?

I dunno man. I'm not sure using the snorkel would work as well as high-altitude training since he's only doing it for like 20 minutes at a time instead of being immersed in it for weeks at a time. I'd like to see more about who has used it. Overall, I think his training looked better than most though.

My mom bought me this issue as a little random Christmas present. I loved the Couture sidebar and actually did his little training 'round' he talked about. Good stuff, I really enjoyed it.
Come on over - got a pizza ready to go in the oven. You guys gotta bring the beer though.
As for Silva's hypoxic training athletes in other sports have done that for years, but as Dos pointed out they use mouthguards with holes that regulate oxygen instead of a snorkel.
If I would've tried using a snorkel during our circuits today I likely wouldn't be sitting here now. Whupped.

Eh, Wand should've used a better gameplan. But that's neither here nor there.
Were Machida and GSP impressive as fuck or what?!

Ya, he should've. More leg kicks. And he was too passive. Still, great job by Liddell. These two need to fight again. The only thing that was really surprising was that it went to a decision. lol
I'm not surprised Machida won (even though I gave the odds to Soko) but I'm surprised Soko fought like that. What's with all these Pride fighters coming in passively? That plays right into Machida's gameplan.
GSP dominated. Not surprised but I could watch him destroy Hughes over and over and never get tired of it. He's so head and shoulders above that one-dimensional dry humper it aint even funny.
