Randy's slam *was* pretty awesome. The break happened pretty early in the fight to really make a hard call that Gonzaga deal with Randy's skill. Randy started looking like he was having some trouble moving the big guy around was was putting a lot of energy into cramming Gonz into the fence. He scored a couple take downs but didn't do anything with them. Another minute or three might have been enough to just wear him down. That said, Randy showed a LOT of poise and aggressive spirit. Regardless of the circumstances, he won and proved himself the worthy champion again. Good on him. Bring on Fedor

Have you guys seen the tseemingly endless idiotic Fedor vs UFC threads at Sherdog?

Those guys make T-rag's finest look like Mensa candidates.

One one hand I'd love to see Fedor come in and clean house, put the belt over his shoulder, and head home with Dana's wallet.

On the other hand I'd like to see Heroes get him and build up a stronger org and cultivate talent around the world such as Rings had been doing.

I just seen one thread right after it was done calling UFC the best and Randy would kill Fedor. Either they've never seen the man fight or...I don't even know. Fedor is insane.

I try not to read Sherdog much anymore. It's like I can feel my brain cells dying everytime I read a thread there.

Like you, I'm torn over the situation. More and more I'm thinking the UFC having no stiff competition is a bad thing. I'd like to see Fedor go to the UFC because there would be some great matches there. But Dana's making some stupid statements in interviews lately like nobody cares about Josh Barnett and that Denis Kang isn't a top fighter. I'd like to see an org like HERO's change their stuff up a bit, sign some more good fighters, improve their production, follow more of a Pride mold (minus the freakshow matches) AND break into the US market to some degree...if for no other reason than to keep the UFC honest. I don't see that happening though.
