Default sparring how much

question i have received in my emails a bunch lately
how often should i spar?

depends on few factors including
1- training phase
2- intensity of sparring
3- how much punishment aborbed in each session
4- tendency for injury
5- athletes perceived exertion
i have experimented with sparring as little as once every 10 days and sparring and as much as 4x 5 per week
in general, the best recommendation is probably somewhere in between
i have seen fighters progress with a wide multitude of different volumes
big indvidual variance

Gotta be a per person response too.

If a fighter applies techniques against an opponent as calmly as they do against the bag/in practice less needed. If they choke or have difficulty under pressure they need to be inured to it.

I know that's only one element of it, and more applicable to less experienced fighters but it's another aspect.

That is a huge gap... Does that mean it doesn't really matter how often you spar?

No.

It is dependent on the fighters technical skill, natural ability, and ring experience.

Other factors are ability to recover and intensity during sparring sessions.
