Default Franklin Better Bring His A Game

Uh oh. Checkout this pic from the weigh ins. Okami looks to be in great shape and may be more physical than Franklin, which is usually Rich's strong suit.

Rich came down from 205 and barely makes 185 but Okami, known for his strength and GnP anyway, looks even bigger.

I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch between Silva and Okami anyway.

Are there any other fights that look good to you guys?

Unfortunately there doesn't look like much to get excited about on paper. Hopefully the reality turns out better.

Okami is a little taller than Franklin and he has some real talent. Plus according to Swick he's really strong. lol I've always liked Franklin cuz he's a finisher. It should be a really good fight but it's not exactly PPV headlining material.

Forrest Griffin "should" beat Ramirez. MacDonald and Swinger should be a pretty good ground match. And I'm curious to see how Tyson Griffin does. That's about it for my thoughts. Hopefully there will be some great fights.

It might be a sleeper card and turn out great. There are some guys on there with something to prove and a couple for whom a loss would equal dropping out of sight for awhile and maybe a day job. That's motivation.

Hey Chiron, anytime your in the WLA or Santa Monica area let me know and we'll grab a drink.

Sure thing man. I'll let you know next time I'm down in your area.

I'm hoping this turns out to be a good night of fights.

Well I still have access to the Hilton's corporate box in the Odyssey and still was not tempted to make a trip home for this card! It won't be on Bravo and I have no desire to ppv it on Setanta!

Roll on the September card!

Franklin/Okami should be a great fight. very evenly matched too.

Griffin/Guida might be fight of the night.

the rest is indeed a bit lackluster, but sometimes those cards surprise us.

You were right - Guida/Griffin was fight of the night even though Guida was robbed blind! Those two put on a MMA grappling clinic.

The Okami/Franklin fight was rather lackluster huh? I wish Okami wouldn't have needed 10 minutes to awake from his slumber. He could have had Rich in big trouble had he not fought the first 2 rounds like he was drugged.

loved it. every time one was able to do something the other evened it out in no time. and Tyson's thigh's are as big as his own waist, jesus. did you see that time Guida shot and actually caught his legs before he was able to sprawl, and STILL could get the takedown?

yeah pretty dissapointing. Okami has been known to start slow but I was thinking he'd know better against a guy like Rich.

hopefully rich will bring his A game against Silva. Last time he walked out with a black eye and a broken will, not the Rich Franklin I have grown to be a huge fan of.

Im kind of getting sick of whatchin forrest though. Its like watching a punching bag that throws wild and slow punches for 15 min.
