Default Softbank presents Dynamite!! USA in association with ProElite

surprised one of you didn't start a thread for this.

fights were ok...and that was about it. the event sucked something fierce.

and I thought I was gonna watch Johnie Morton die for a minute.

here's Brock Lesnar's MMA debut.

Ya, the production was AWFUL. Some of the fights were decent.

We couldn't tell much about Lesnar from that since he fought a guy that he should beat in any situation but he definitely looked athletic and I think if he sticks with it he'll be a formidable heavyweight.

lol. I thought the same thing about Morton. I kept thinking "Oh great, the first guy to die in MMA is going to be Johnnie Morton". I was disappointed in this match. Morton could've done so much better but he seemed like he thought he was going to win just on his athleticism.

Saku vs Royce II sucked bad. That was a terrible fight. Terrible reffing. Those guys need to retire (ref too).

I'm not unhappy I missed the event at all after what I read

You've gotta hope that they get their shit together though as K-1 has enough potential talent to put on some good shows.

Dennis Rodman?

I'm not sure if anyone can make sense of that one while sober but I'll give it a shot:

Japanese corporate exec types in the 40-60 age group are amazingly in tune with what 'Merican meatheads in the 18-35 age group desire. Afterall, Pride became such a hit in the U.S. due to Tyson's draw and overwhelming credibility so well... what could be better than one upping them by bringing in Rodman?

Well, what K-1 might want to do is hire some of Pride's production people. It looks like they might be out of a job before too long anyway. That and sign some more quality fighters which is entirely possible given the state of Pride. There will probably be a couple fighters that would rather go to K-1 than the UFC if the contract is right.

I'm not sure how the whole Dennis Rodman thing will pan out. If he does buy K-1 USA then I think it'll sink fast. I can't picture Rodman running it effectively at all. I'd be interested to see him get in the ring though, only because I'd like to see him get knocked out. lol

the guy has absolutely no shortage of potential. the guy was obviously a can but Brock came in 0-0. its too bad for him that being Brock Lesnar people aren't gonna wanna give him build up fights. the sherdoggers are already going crazy with the "yeah well put him against a top fighter. put any 1-0 MMA rookie against a top fighter, no shit they'll lose.

to his credit, the can was a Judo silver medalist and he was in full mount in about 30 seconds. also, word from everyone involved with him(and to no suprise really) it would seem he is a fast learner when it comes to this stuff.

how many HW's are gonna be able to stop his takedowns? he could very well turn into a gynormous Kos, with the difference being I think Brock's attitude lends him to being more aggressive.

I totally agree. We all know the guy has natural athleticism. Hell, he went from collegiate wrestling to pro wrestling to actually making the team for a while in pro Football. That may not be impressive to some people but the fact that he hung with some guys that have been practicing football-specific skills for years shows his athleticism and ability to learn physical skills so he should pick up MMA quickly. I hope he really develops some skills. I'd hate to see him turn into a Kevin Randleman/Mark Kerr type of fighter where they're just never able to put it all together.
