He should be fighting soon. He signed with the UFC. I was expecting them to announce he'd be the one to fight the winner of Jacksin vs Liddell. I was kinda surprised to find out the announcement was Henderson.

Rampage better work hard because Shogun is coming for his title.

It'd be a real shame if Dana puts Hendo and Shogun under exclusive contracts to the UFC as that would not only help bury Pride but guarantee his boy Chuck won't be getting the title back

I'm sure they wanna feed Shogun a couple of cans first before he fights for the title because none of the TUF/Hooters crowd has any idea and it'd only be smart business.

Those Pride matches make me nostalgic for the good 'ol days

As usual, I agree with you man. Do you think Dana is more interested in keeping Pride around as something close to equal to the UFC or do you think he wants to bury Pride (or keep it as a lesser feeder league) and just have the UFC go global?

I told a couple of the kids I teach about Shogun on Friday and they were like "who's that". I told them to keep an eye out cuz he might be the new LHW champ before long.

It sure seems like they wanna suck the best talent out of Pride and make their baby the only game in town.

A friend of mine who has done business with the Fertittas assured me that they are cutthroat businessmen through and through so my guess is that they'll try to pull some Don King shit.

The thing is I don't think they understand the Japanese market and Pride could just as easily disappear if K-1 and other orgs take advantage.

I'm hoping K-1, EliteXC or even *shudder* Bodog step it up to help keep the UFC honest with their cards. It seems like a few fighters from Pride are more likely to go to other orgs instead of signing with the UFC (ie, Barnette and Fedor). But right now it doesn't look like they're doing a very good job of that, at least going by how chaotic the set-up to tonight's K-1 event looked.
