Aleks is gonna light Pele up. Southworth is in for a painful night as well I'm afraid.
As for Lindland I think it may be a better fight than one might expect. Not that Fedor won't take him out but that ornery bastard's wrestling game may keep him in it for a round.
Take up a collection and have JP get it at home or at the gym. Could there be a more perfect Summit night activity than MMA? I think not.

I'll even get a few beers in and watch it here while logged on to JP's!!!

I'm gonna go out on a limb and figure it's because they wanted a fighter that was fairly popular who they could sign. A lot of MMA fans know who Matt Lindland is. So it brings a little more exposure. Lindland's a good fighter but he's not even the best at LHW or WW so I don't see how he could beat Fedor 99% of the time. But I can't see what other rationale they had.

according to Lindland Fedor basically hand picked him, turning down fights with others. and thats pretty much what most sources have said, ever since it came out that it wasn't gonna be Monson because Fedor didn't wanna fight him.
I really do believe Fedor is the best there is but atp I gotta start to question how motivated he is for this. his last fights have been Hunt, Coleman and Zulu. then he picks a MW over a legit though not ranked HW who while being a stubby bastard has decent boxing and is a proven grappler.

check sherdog if you wanna know the outcome.
Ya, I already know the outcome. It's even on Wikipedia already. lol
If Fedor picked Lindland himself that truly is disappointing. It does bring up questions of motivation. Since they announced the fight I've looked at it as a wasted opportunity to watch Fedor fight. I mean, fighters only fight 3-4 times a year and you want to see good match-ups. Lindland is a good fighter but, considering his size, I don't think he'd have good odds against any top 5 HW, let alone Fedor. I doubt Monson would beat Fedor but it would definitely be a lot more comp.
This sucks, my satellite provider isn't carrying it and the usual place I watch must have crashed. I'm tempted to see the results now....
Anyone watching?
