P.S. Salmon did survive and will be released from the hospital today.

nice contrast in kicks though.....especially since the objective it to actually Kick SOMETHING. Best one since Mark Coleman got TAGGED in the face by Pete Williams....

I was so bummed in Heath. Before that fight I would've placed him somewhere between the #8 or #10 HW in the world. I hadn't seen him fight since his last match against Nog in PRIDE but man does it look like he's gone down hill. He showed up out of shape, fought with a weird "gorilla" style and just sucked all around. O'Brien owned him with those takedowns. The sad thing was O'Brien didn't do crap once he took him down. I think that was a record for the number of times a fighter had a guys back or had him mounted without finishing him. He didn't even seem to try. Even so, he definitely won that fight. I've heard that Heath claimed he tore his MCL like 3 weeks before the fight but I don't know if its true or not. Regardless, he really sucked. I hope he gets himself back to the kind of fighter he looked like he was becoming in 2003.
So much for Rashad not beeing able to finish. his last two fights were just nasty to whatch. I really like him and wish him the best. Great boxer/wrestler and an amazing athelete. Still undefeated right?
Apparently Heath tore an MCL in training which would explain his awkward stance and baffling lack of grappling game.
I'd still pick him over most in the HW division, and on a good day over doofus.

yeah, you remember his last fights ground and pound finish. The guy was out cold and evans landed a good two punches right in the neck. made me wanna puke.
LOL. What did Salmon think he was in a Tae Kwon Do tournament or something?
That kick actually works very well . . .IF the person is already stunned, staggering, or otherwise way out of balance/position. I yell at my competitors whenever they use any sort of leaping kick. We only practice that in class as a finisher to be used after someone has been blasted with other stuff and is standing there stunned, often somewhat bent over.
Why would you use a jumping kick on someone who is bent over?
Wouldn't a simple round/straight kick find the target faster and with more accuracy?
This is an honest question as I've never done TKD and haven't used aerial techniques much at all.

Yes. Which is why I wouldn't use an aerial kick unless I was in a kung fu movie. I took TKD dedicated (2 hours everyday) for a year before moving to Muay Thai and I was a pretty good kicker but I've never seen a situation where any kind of aerial kick would work better than a simple roundhouse or some type of front kick. I do think they could be used successfully in some cases though. But I can't see a good reason to risk it aside from looking cool. hehe
