Local boy makes news
Some of you might recognize our very own Chris Correia on the right side of this picture. Turns out he actually knows what he's doing ( ) and is cranking out champions from his TKD school.
Congratulations, Chris!!

Gee. Thanks Greg, and thanks everyone. We did pretty well. And to think that we don't really train sport martial arts. It just goes to show that good training is good training.
My school if Cloquet Taekwondo. North Shore Taekwondo is my instructor's school, where I still train once a week myself in Taekwondo and Kumdo. Master Bruce is the big, tall guy on the left. I'm the not so tall guy on the right. Funny that we train together on occassion, given the size mismatch, but it's a fun challenge for me.

Thanks, Irish.
With my instructor in the pic, I shouldn't take center stage. But even if he wasn't there, I'm not a "stand/sit in the middle of all my smiling students" kind of guy. That's not our style.

I'm happy for those guys. They were so pumped to go, given the close proximity of the tourney and the once in a lifetime chance to compete in that tourney right in our own backyard. And they did a great job!
I did not place. I competed in forms in the senior (over 30 ) third dan division. I'd been practicing my form regularly and felt I did the best performance I've ever done in competition. My (Master) instructor was one of the judges and, while he usually would probably be harder on me than others so as to not be biased, said he actually thought he had me scored tops in the division and thought I did a really good form. That was good enough for me!
