Default and Fedor begat Kiril

Fedor's 18yr old protege Kiril Sidelnikov had his first pro MMA fight in Korea last night. Kiril recently won the Combat Sambo World Championships taking out all his opponents in the first round.

Fedor picks Kiril to be the guy to succeed him. It makes sense - check out the cyborg-like composure on this kid.

Proud papa Fedor

That kid has a wicked fast right kick. I'm surprised that guy was able to get up so quickly after that thing whopped him upside the head.

I can't believe Fedor sent him so poorly prepared - he doesn't even have an aerodynamic haircut!?!?!

Or is it a John-Claude Van Damme kickboxer moment - where he gets him drunk before he gets him in a fight?

Nice focus, timing and control - Fedor has every right to look smug in the commentary box...will be looking out for him.

Thanks Kuri.

I wonder why he'd say this kid will succeed him when he's got an 18 year old younger brother. I believe his name is Ivan Emelianenko.

In an interview Fedor said both his brothers aren't real dedicated with their training and don't train with him much. Kiril however trains with Fedor full-time.

Yeah that kick was nasty but the scary thing is that Kiril is a grappling specialist!

Here's another cool vid from the same night of Fedor and his Sambo instructor doing a little exhibition match.

I've been wondering how this kid'll do since he said he'll be his successor. How cool would it be to learn from Fedor?

Is it just me? Or is there something weird about Fedor having an instructor?

Next they'll tell us he has a mum instead of a factory....

I havnt been around enough, that was very very cool.

In the martial arts or (combative arts) the teacher takes on the role of walking library. He passes everything down while continuing with his own training. You look at boxers as a great example, every old hard ass out there is well passed prime, yet every fighter needs that knowledge

I know what you mean though. Fedor seems to have been uploaded with the knowledge from a Russian super computer, instead of a teacher.
