Default Crocop to UFC?

http://www.sherdog.com/news/news.asp?n_id=6352

Mother of God. I hope this isn't true.

Why don't you want this to happen?

After Mirko kicks Tim's head into the 10th row they can set up Cro-Cop vs Fedor 2 in a merged Pride/UFC superevent.

I'll lay off the crack now

p.s. someone send a case of Depends to Sylvia post haste. He's gonna need 'em everytime he checks the internets.

Well, a couple reasons:

1) I think it would be great if all of the top fighters were in the same organization. I don't think that's likely but I'd like as many top fighters to be under one roof as possible. That way we get the best matches and less of the "What if" scenario we have to do when fighters are in two different orgs. Even if we see a Pride vs. UFC match (which would be very cool) how often are we going to see it? Rarely.

2) I prefer Pride rules and the way they do their events to the UFC. So I'd naturally prefer the org with the top fighters be Pride.

Pride still has more talent overall but this certainly drains it a bit. But I am a big UFC fan and I'm glad the UFc has improved their talent pool so much with their other recent acquisitions.

The UFC really needs a better HW division to support a Cro-Cop addition. I guess adding Rampage and Herring is a good first step, and they have Vera, but really, we need to get Fedor over to the UFC and Nog, or some other talent that can really challenge him. I'll be glad to see Tim lights out though!

Is Rampage fighting at HW now? I thought he was still LHW but I don't know.

One strange thing about this trade...they had UFN tonight on Spike and there was no mention of it. I think this can safely be called one of the biggest transactions in MMA history so I'm kinda surprised there was no mention of it.

They probably need a minute to educate the TUF fans and let them know that doofus and the rest of the UFC heavies are not in the same league as Cro-Cop. Hell it's hardly the same sport!

Sorry, that was a dumb inclusion. I lumped him in there without thinking. I haven't seen any evidence to imply that Rampage has moved to HW.
