kang didnt look as good as he did in his previous fights in my opinion.
filho pulled out of the final i heard? anyone know why?

I heard Filho injured his knee and had to pull out. You KNOW he's pissed after seeing the final.

Really sucks for Kang. Heard he went into the finals basically not being able to use his left arm. Shoulder injury, perhaps rotator cuff. I give him all the credit in the world for just showing up to fight though, the poor guy lost his fiance a month ago.

LW title fight was a bit boring. Round 1 was all dancing. Round 2 was better. Im suprised Gomi didnt go for the gullitione choke .

Saturday sucked all around...first, I watch the Mayweather fight. here's a guy who can't stfu about himself, saying he's the best pfp ever, comparing himself to Sugar Ray Robinson, and all he does is dance around the fucking ring for 12 rounds. he made absolutely no attempt to ko Baldimir, throwing like 30 punches a round. he had every chance to just t-off on him too, the speed difference was like a turtle vs. a rabbit on crack. the post fight interview was a joke too, can't wait for someone to ko him.

then, I stay up to watch the PRIDE show. I've been looking forward to this card more than any in a while. and I get more decisions in one night than I can remember. Kang was tentative(though he had excuses), so was Gomi. Filho pulls out so the guy that wins the GP happens to have gotten a one sided beat down just 2 hours earlier. most of the fights weren't worth watching. Aoki's slick ass triangle was cool, but French =/= Melendez. the final was the best fight of the night, and thats not saying much. a guy who got his ass kicked vs. a guy with an injured shoulder and reason to be distracted.

I agree with you about Mayweather -that fight was a refresher on why I hardly ever watch boxing anymore.

I don't think I've ever seen Gomi that defensive before. Even in his loss to BJ he at least went for something. That last loss to Aurelio combined with the obvious pressure on him to keep the Pride title in Japan made for a bad fight.

It's safe to say we'll be seeing Misaki against Kang and/or Filho again. Misaki has to know he wasn't the true champ that night.

I agree that Kang won it. He got two takedowns in the 1st round and controlled Misaki for 9 mins. of the 10 minute round with Misaki getting a yellowcard for inaction. Not even close there.

The second round was closer with Kang getting a takedown and Misaki a knockdown. On the feet it was pretty close.

But when your in a close fight in the other guy's backyard...
