Gets my vote for strangest moment in MMA history.

Well I hope they'd met him before that - otherwise we could have a couple of church tower snipers in the making!
Yup strange choice.

Coleman's kids may have some psychological counseling in their future after that shit. Don't know how wise it is to have a 'go to work with your dad' day when you get mauled for a living.

Most people I talked to thought it was sloppy and that the announcers (the ones in the ring introducing the fighters) were horrible. I think they probably should tone down the japanese flare a bit, but in my opinion that was a ton better than any UFC event.
Although I do wish they would legalize knees and extend to 10 minute rounds, and add elbow's in. If they did all that it would rock.

I don't see why everyone is making a fuss about Coleman bringing his kids into the ring. I am very sure his kids know what their dad does for a living, and actually bringing the girls in is an attempt to show them that Fedor is a real person, not some monster.

Yeah but there's a right way and a wrong way to do it....If Fedor had met the kids at Coleman's house before, and daddy had explained what was going to happen and that it was all business, that he and Fedor got on ok and there wouldn't be any real harm done - ok.
If walking in the ring, just after the pounding, was the first time they'd seen the guy....well confusing is the nicest way to put it. Hence the look son their faces!

Their kids, I doubt they would be smiling.....as a matter of fact, any family member, regardless of age, would show emotion, just after a fight like this. How much ever you explain to kids that it's business, I seriously doubt they will understand it.

I've always liked Fedor ever since I saw his first Pride match with Heath Herring. It was easy to tell he was special. And his demeanor makes it easy to like him since he's not trying to compensate for something with a super macho attitude. Some fighters could learn as much from his attitude as from his actual fighting skills.

Figured something like this would come out sonner or later ....
"BREAKING NEWS: MMAWeekly has learned that Vitor Belfort and Pawel Nastula tested positive for banned substances after their respective fights on Pride's "Real Deal" card this past Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission has confirmed that Nastula tested positive for the anabolic steroid nandrolone, while Belfort tested positive for 4-hydroxytestosterone, which is also legally defined as an anabolic steroid and banned in Major League Baseball and other sports.
Belfort, a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, lost to Dan Henderson by unanimous decision on the Pride card. Nastula, who won a gold medal in Judo at the 1996 Olympic Games, lost by submission to Josh Barnett on the card.
All of the other fighters who were drug-tested on the Pride card passed their drug tests.
As with all cases of a fighter testing positive for banned substances, Belfort and Nastula | |
