I lose more and more respect for the organizations when I get to read transcripts like those. I wonder if Pride really is having issues in Japan, and I wonder if that was all staged to create more publicity so that we can get a wwe wcw kind of thing going on. Lame.
Pride is by many accounts backed by the Yamaguchi-gumi, the largest Yakuza (mafia) family in Japan. But so are many, many other legitimate Japanese companies. That is why they lost their deal with Fuji TV.
But word is they have lined up Mike Tyson to fight Mark Hunt on New Years Eve which will garner them another deal.
There are some threads at Sherdog where you can download audio of the Sirius show. I haven't listened to it but apparently Dana shows his true colors. In other words don't expect any UFC champs to fight Pride champs anytime soon.

Yakuza eh? I hadn't thought about that, but given my limited knowledge of the Yakuza that doesn't surprise me.
Not sure about Mike Tyson fighting Hunt. I'm assuming there are going to be some provisions if that happens?
If anyone gets a link to the audio I'd love to hear it. After I started watching the TUF stuff I kind of came to the conclusion that Dana was an ASS. But despite him being an ass does he do what is good for the UFC or could it be better with someone else running it and who would you pick to run it (yeah I know Dana won't be fired since he's part owner with the other guys). Just looking for peoples opinions and thoughts.

theres a few links in there. the show is unimaginably horrible. the host is a complete jackass, and has music playing throughout the whole thing which becomes increasingly annoying.
MMA discussion starts right about 30 mintues in, then Dana calls in maybe 10-15 later and all that starts up.

the problem being that the vast majority of the sherdog forums are completely biased(re:retarded).
theres absolutely no way to know the whole story, even with this little argument. both sides say its the other guys fault, people just buy into which ever they want.
As Dos said previously the Sher forums are only good for a good laugh. They should start awarding belts to keyboard warriors.
I know Dana is a jackass. Never heard of that Pride guy. I don't care enough to sit through that show so you guys will have to summarize it for me
Oh whaddaya know I just flipped on Spike and there's Dana oogling prospective UFC girls. Wonder how many of 'em were introduced to Dana's casting couch...

I was wondering the same thing. How about the twins?
I was wondering when Tyson would start to take mma fights. Not just because he is washed up as a boxer, but because he's really just a street fighter and Pride or UFC is more his style.
Tyson won't fight MMA rules, only boxing. He'll reportedly do a boxing exhibition against a pride fighter.
He wouldn't last 1 minute in MMA.

It would be kind of funny to see Iron Mike try to defend against a takedown. BTW, Tyson was actually a VERY good boxer in his prime....one fast set of hands (heavy to boot) and talk about head movement and footwork.

No shit, I love watching Tyson's movement back when D'Amato was still training him.
btw Best Damn Sports show has some classic Tyson moments on tonight. Laughing my ass off.

couple of weeks ago they had some classic tyson on ESPN2 (working out) and I watched it. Guy was a bulldog. One guy he fought had to have been almost a foot taller than him. Took him out in the 2nd or 3rd round.
