Only days away and they don't have photos of 3 of the fighters... you know these guys are getting paid!!

Yeah Pulver would never make it through TUF His fight with Gomi in Pride was one of the best matches in recent memory. Can't wait to see him light up some folks again.

Top 3

Hughes by stoppage,
* I know Penn is Matts boogie-man, but Matts game is different, hes stronger and has more experience than the first time around. Saying that, Penn always has a chance.

Loiseau by stoppage
*I love the guys striking from the gaurd

Evans by decision
*I think hes a boring fighter lacking the ability to finish when it counts but he always squeaks by

just my 2 yen...

My Picks on a couple of these

Hughes gets revenge on Penn
Pulver wins making it 3 and 0 for Militech fighters on this night!
Lambert (more experience?)
Abbadi - If I remember correctly Gurgel hasn't been that impressive in his 2 fights...perhaps now he will be.
Swick wins as well

Just remember Abbadi getting his ass-kicked on TUF and saying 'I'm an ultimate fighter!!' as he was sent packing back the airport.....WTF?! Thought the whole point was for the WINNERS of TUF to be able to say "Hey! I'm a fucking Ulitmate Fighter Biatch!"

Didn't know that Abbadi was on TUF....since that's the case then I'll take Gurgel, but I don't think it's going to be impressive.

Anyone else but me think that they bring to many of the TUF fighters into the mix? Only one's that should make it to the UFC are the 2 finalists in each category. Seems like they've flooded the market and no one gets to know the fighter because they are always bringing people in. I guess you could say that they aren't developing people.

Yeah, it's almost enough to make one think that Dana brings in dudes he knows they can pay next to nothing instead of building a quality stable of top shelf guys that may demand a fair payday.

I'll bet money that none of the guys on this card, aside from Hughes, Penn, Loiseau, maybe Swick & Pulver, are making even low 5 figures this weekend.

I don't mean to keep harping on the pay issue but I refuse to fork out $40 when I know the UFC are seeing mid 8 figures per event but paying shit to the guys that actually make it happen. It's just like major record labels screwing over ___ (insert artist) for decades.

It's enough to make me wanna see Penn school Hughes again and take the belt back to Japan.

in taht penn interview he said hes staying with ufc for the time beeing. "At least the next 5 fights". Anyone see the spike countdown for this fight. It looks like penn is such a gifted athelete and doesnt really care or train all that hard. He reminds me of all those kids from back home who had rich parents and never worked a day in their life. I just really dislike his attitude. When he loses he just talks smack. Granted he doesnt lose all that often but still. Its one thing if he beat st piere and talked smack. But i mean, you lost. Stop talkin like you walked out that fight with your hand raised. Shit the only reason he got this fight is cause team canada pulled his groin.

Matt catching BJ in a sub? now THAT would be earth shattering.

And Matt talking about standing with BJ... yeah right. He's gonna shoot for the double the instant BJ connects.

The real problem for Matt is that even if he gets BJ on his back BJ's open guard game is far better than anyone Hughes trains with. I'm curious to see how Matt will defend the stream of subs.

I like the Hughes-Penn and Swick-Loiseau fights, but everything else stinks. I can't wait fror Pride to come to the U.S. I just hope they aren't forced to water down things too much.

Hughes by decision, after stomping BJ for 5 rounds; Loiseau by stoppage, round 2.

Can someone please hire BJ a conditioning coach?!@

He had that damn fight won. I guess to be fair BJ only had a month to prepare but still he was just schooling Matt until he ran out of burrito juice.

seriously, he was more skilled than Hughes on the ground. the fight was his to win.

he really really really needs to fix his gas tank.

Isn't Penn known to gas even when he does have 3 months to train or whatever the figure is (didn't he gas in the GSP fight?).

That was sad, to see Penn gas like that, Matt was a teenager in a seminar until that happened. Conditioning is however part of the game and just as important as any rear triangle omeplata armbar combo, that was sick...

Matt is so strong, his fitness and cardio are shocking. I still cant believe he gets that body from a 1 bodypart per day routine. Why do you think Matt lifts that way? Is it to keep the recovery time down to a minimal so he can focus on technical training?

I saw Matt fight in person years ago before he was in the UFC and he was just as thick and strong as he is now. There was no neck there. His twin brother looks pretty much the same and I don't know how much, if any, he hits the gym.

I can't say it's the only reason but these guys got some winning tickets in the genetic lottery.

No doubt his cardio is superb.

In regards to your question about why Matt trains the one body part a day. The gym that Militech fighters train at is run by Pat and a former bodybuilder. I suspect that the bodybuilder that runs the gym has came up with Matts weight training. Just a guess. I'm surprise that Matt hasn't gone to something like Crossfit seeing as how he's friends with Liddell.

I don't know guys, the leg didn't look too secure under matts neck and the arm bar looked like it might have been the more powerful but matt was working on picking Penn up and dropping him anyway.

From what I saw in the match Hughes was really looking to go five rounds and wanted to take it to the ground and avenge the previous submission. When Matt really stuck to stand-up (aside from a thumb in the eye and Penn gassing) he gave it to Penn as much and possibly more even in the early rounds, but lost on the ground. I think that when matt went to the ground after clearly hurting Penn, he was showing everyone he wanted to beat Penn handily. The 2nd round sub looked more dramatic than it really was and I would have been ticked if Penn got another last second sub.

theres an interview up, apparently he hurt his ribs taking Matt's back.

got most of the fights up now, as soon as they're done 'processing' I'll post them, including the Miletich-Gracie IFL fight.

I saw that interview too - bad luck for BJ. I like his attitude; no excuses, gives Matt all credit for the win. Hopefully we'll see him back in full health.
