Damn that Dana! With all that build up I thought Jeremy was gonna fight.
Oh well, gives him another week to get in shape. I was going to the gym he was training out of back when he fought Diaz in the UFC. Jeremy is a strong dude - he threw around some good iron in the gym and didn't do any of that machine circuit crap. Lots of power cleans, deads, squats etc...
After that loss he had a falling out with his manager (who was also a manager of the gym I worked out at) and was offered some good money to pro box, so he went to Silva's boxing gym in Ventura. Fernando Vargas's trainer showed some interest in him at the time.
Last I talked to him he won his first two boxing matches via KO. Guess after the UFC started blowing up he figured it'd be a good time for a comeback.

Well he looked good in training and he was nice and relaxed - looked confident.
Bodes well.

Talk about an anti-climatic fight! Just watched last nights TUF on TIVO....WTF?! Take down defense....I understand that he was on his hip immediately but I have seen LOTS of guys defend when someone has your back...LOTS. I don't buy into the noton that Lutter is the guy to beat in this thing....one overhand right KO (a long time ago...)does not mean that you are now a well-rounded MMA fighter.

No shit Dos. The guy that lost was talking about his ability on the ground but was easily owned. Obviously he's never watched a Sakuraba fight.
I'd pick Shonie over Lutter any 'ol day.

Yeah, whole show was disappointing - but the actual fight was worse!
He did exactally what was expected and still the other guy just wasn't prepared. He was like a rabbit in a car headlights the whole time!

I found that even after he tapped in his post interview he was raving about how he is still the better fighter and athlete! He got beat cleanly and quickly and looked like he was a novice fighter and still had the audacity to say he was the better fighter and athlete! What a joke...

YUP, that's why they fight the fights! I hate that when fighters have the nerve to say shit like that post-fight.

I like to stick with "The older I get, the better I was!", myself.

Ko didn't think that another round was even needed since Dewees clearly won the two rounds. And I thought Ray's 'tude afterwards was in the area of "sore loser"; which was surprising since the majority of the guys have been displaying pretty good competitive mentalities. That's truly been refreshing this season.

ON THE SUBJECT OF SORE LOSER.....A SORE LOSER IS ONE THAT TRIES TO TAKE SOMETING AWAY FROM HIS OPPONENT, WHICH RIGHTFULLY BELONGS TO HIM......GIDEON STATES " DEWEES IS A GREAT FIGHTER, HE PUT UP A TOUGH FIGHT, AND THE JUDGES HAD A JOB TO DO....U SHOULD WATCH THIS OVER AND OVER, PERHAPS TOO MANY BREWS WHEN SHOW WAS ON???? perhaps u should get your ears cleaned and research fighters before you speak on them, Ray has a disciplined background in tae kwon do and he was very humble after the fight he stated " the fight in his eyes was at least a draw" u know and i know if you follow the ufc fights we've seen fights stopped with way less bleeding then what was coming from "the poster boys" head, so dont flatter yourself.....in addition everyone is entitled to their opinion but lets be real ....sense the ufc is "as real as it gets" or is it ????? in one breath it states that the rules are if there is blood in the fighters eyes or is blocking vision then the fight is supposed to be stopped....well if thats the case it should have been stopped...blood in his eyes, his oppenents eyes, NOSE and MOUTH????? ....trust me, when ray was on top of deweess he clearly executed his targets, when deweess was on top of ray he supposedly controlled the fight???????????????are you sure or did he attempt to deliever blows to ray and ray delivers him another elbow to the face again...not again, ,maybe that was another lucky wild elbow too GUESS AGAIN MY FRIEND......many of the bias views im getting from this forum???? ummmmm i wonder why?????? perhaps you dont look at things with a fair eye? or maybe you only have one, or maybe your'e blind, but the things you state really make you sound BIAS or someone who is programmed by telivision stand on your on 2 feet and always speak the truth FYI

Ladies and gentlemen let's welcome our newest member Gideon Ray. BTW Ray, you did make excuses after losing to Dewees, expecting to have the fight stopped while you are getting beat is not the same as winning a fight or being a better fighter.
As far as the cut goes, it was not in a 'dangerous spot' for the fighter. Irrelevant how much blood was pouring out or who it was pouring on.....think of it as a "danger of the job".

fyi this is not gideon ray because if i was i would kick your ass!! for making dum comments, however on a lighter note there are no excuses and thats a true gladiator which could face defeat or mere politics and still keep on coming back.....gideon ray if you ever see this email please contact me i am a multi-millionaire who stands for the truth i am currently trying to contact your management so you can stopped getting fucked by fork tounge liars who see what they want to see...again the ufc states "this was the bloodiest fight in ufc history" then why the fuck wasn't the fight stopped???? BECAUSE THATS NOT HOW THEY PLANNED FOR IT TO GO.......gideon ray not only split his opponents head wide open but lets not forget to mention weeses real weight was a roaring 28 pounds heavier then Ray on fight day, perhaps thats why all he could do was lay on top of Ray
