didn't think it would go this way. bloody fight, great win for Joe, shitty loss for Yves. Joe looked pretty good at 155. Yves has now lost his last 2 UFC fights, both to underdogs, where does he go from here?
borring fight, Frank gets a win but looks horrible in doing so. gassed as soon as the fight started. I'm a big Mir fan but I just don't think he's gonna get back to where he was. If they give him either of the fighters in the main event I see it being too much for him.
This was the first UFC fight i've seen. The ortiz fight ended so fast it was pretty lame... and the heavyweight fight? holy crap was that the most boring fight. they just stood there for 5 rounds and took jabs at eachother.
A pretty disappointing UFC in my opinion. Arlovski vs. Sylvia was boring. Ortiz vs. Shamrock, questionable stop to the fight. I think the best fight was Neer vs. Burkman.
I can't wait to see Liddell get his ass handed to him by Wanderlei Silva!

Ok. will someone please tell me who the hell won between Ortiz and Shamrock? Lots of commentary, no results.
R1
The crowd goes nuts as Tito enters the cage to a thumping Eminem track. Ken comes rushing out with a barrage of punches. Tito answers with a knee. Big slam from Tito into Ken's closed guard. About 5 unanswered elbows stops the fight very prematurely. Ken charges towards Tito as Ortiz duplicates his ditchdigger celebration from UFC 30. After review of the replay, Tito landed a few very solid elbows with no answer from Ken, but he did not seem to be hurt other than a wince. - from the play by play

I can't really blame Herb for calling it since it was clear Ken wasn't about to do anything, and UFC has come a long way with what they're going to allow, but I wanted to see Tito demolish him so bad

Tim vs. Andrei was one of the biggest let downs ever. those 2 are not supposed to go to a decision. why the fuck did AA let up on the leg kicks? why the fuck did he never try and take tim down? I hate Tim Sylvia, and now I hate Andrei Arlovski.
Last week Wanderlei demolished a 250lb Kazuyuki Fujita in about 2 minutes.
Wand always brings it and Chuck has trouble with aggressive strikers (Rampage) so I see this one being real good.
The only fight I saw was the above but from what I'm reading on other boards the Arlovski-Sylvia was aweful. People saying everyone was booing throughout.
I hope this deal with Pride brings in some better heavyweights.
And as an interesting side note on Friday my wife spoke with Pride prez. Sakakibara. She's involved with legal matters involving establishing Pride USA. She said Pride is really going all out in bringing the show to the States so we shall see.

Rumor is theres a deal whereby Pride may be sending more than Wandy to fight in the UFC and Dana may send someone to fight in Pride too.
Pride is coming to Vegas in October so we might just see a UFC guy or two in the ring then.
getgot- muy obrigado, you da man!

Thats awsome Kuri! I think the UFC is drying up its picking pool these days. Also I think this merger (of sorts) will evolve the MMA world again. The strikers over at Pride FC IMHO appear to be stronger and more dangerous. The UFC needs this to stay current I think.
I saw that it's been made official - Pride is sending heavyweight Kazuyuki Fujita to fight in the November UFC.
Pride is also sending Phil Baroni, but I don't see him being a top contender.
Fujita is tough man. He rocked Fedor in their fight, almost putting him out. The dude has no neck and his cranium is double the thickness of a normal man so it'll interesting.

The UFC got rid of Baroni and now he's coming back? Doesn't make sense to me! However it does seem that as the UFC has become more main stream they have been keeping things on the feet more often.
I'm looking forward to seeing what the pride fighters do in the UFC.
Actually means: he was getting some shaft (for those that watched fight night when they were pumping Blade the TV Series...Joe made that comment without thinking!).

I watched that fight, I must have been swigging beer, what did Rogan say??

Except Silva jut got his ass handed to him by cro-cop, wonder if it's still gonna happen.
Google has it available for anyone interested. Silva Gets pwnd
'owned' is putting it mildly. I have never been a wandy fan but the sheer look of arrogance on his face prior to the fight, not to mention all the shit he talked about crocop, was priceless when he ended-up looking like Stallone in Rocky I.

lol, If you visit silva's website he's pretty humble about it. He says he was glad for the fight and that Cro-Cop had a better night. He said Cro-cop landed the better shots and showed opportunity for improvement. From what I've seen outside of PR, both fighters are very good guys.
Ugly fight though, but, I think Silva could take the shots from liddell and make a good fight out of it. Cro-Cop would prolly own them both though.
