Default Training to avoid a knockout....

Hi all,
Saw a fight break out at a local pub. A quiet fit guy (looked liked he worked out) got knocked out with ONE punch by a guy with a huge belly. Im guessing the only weights he ever lifted was a beer can and his ass off the toilet. The fit guy turned away for a sec, and BAM! next thing, he was on the floor... What training helps you avoid blanking out, if there is such a thing?

Train not to turn away...There are points on the human body a four year old could knock you out on if you stood there and let them.

lol, yup. when you get hit "on the button" you get hit on the button, and theres really nothing you can do about it(some people just happen to have better ability to take it/recover faster than others). you can't really train taking a punch, you have to train avoiding it in the first place. and the first rule of that is: don't turn away.

I agree with getGot...if that right punch lands correctly...don't matter how fit you are or big you are. You are going down. the only sensory training I can think of, is actual sparring with boxing gloves and protective gear. It will help render your senses more predictive and enable the body's natural protective-ness.

Listed to what's been said. It's all good. Spend time training how not to be a target (look, and move faster!).

Don't get hit.

A shot to the jaw, a shot to the temple, a shot to the solar plexus, the throat, the liver, the "kids". You can't really train to avoid going down from these punches.

Any one of these will put a most guys down. If it doesn't, you picked a fight with the wrong person.
