Default Looking at Full Contact Kickboxing

I have been back and forth on this issue for some time now. There is a gym that offers full contact kickboxing with the opportunity to fight in sanctioned fights. I have a few years of TKD experience and have gotten older since then. I am now 32. Money is tight, but this gym offers a month to month payment schedule instead of a contract, which is nice.

I want to try to sell my wife on the idea, but I know she will argue the money issue and the tiem away from teh family since we have a 5 year old boy and a 6 month old girl at home and she spends all day with them.

Anyway, beside the venting of this post, what can I expect as far as class instruction and workouts from a full contact kickboxing program?

Thanks.

Hi NoExcuses,
I have some thai kickboxing backround and I can tell you, injuries are a big thing. Some are so severe, it can lay you out for weeks, even months. Since you have small kids, maybe you need to think it over. I am sure yr TKD has helped you prepare, but in my case, muai thai just blew me away. Try sparring while yr ankle is swelling up to the size of a golfball. Just my 2 cents...
