Im starting up Phase IV of Scrawny to Brawny, then after that im going to take a week off and start with one of Waterbury's programs, either Total Body Training or Waterbury Method. Hypertrophy is my main goal at the moment. For those who have done both, is there any one you prefer?

Both are similar but I felt I got better results with TBT, though there are other contributing factors that affected my training at the time.

I should also add that I mixed in some Oly lifts and my goal wasn't strictly hypertrophy but also athletic performance.

All in all the set rep scheme of TBT worked better for me. At times I felt overtrained (doing alot of surfing and martial arts) on the Waterbury method and adjusted, but ended up taking a week off towards the end anyway.

Hope this helps

I was considering one of these routines and decided to start the Waterbury Method yesterday.

I finished the workout in just under an hour, but I was wiped out at the end. The 10X3 of squats is a killer. But I was able to use more weight than I usually lift and still make it to through all 10 sets.
Then moving on to the supersets, the rest of the workout goes by really fast.

I may make some substitutions later on to add some more Lat work, but overall I think I am going to like this routine.

TBT gives you a lot more freedom in choosing exercises, but I think that's why I stayed away for now. I need to sit down and structure a whole routine based on the TBT formula before I can start.
Good luck, i'm sure either routine will work great for you. And when you finish you can do the other one.
