LIVIN' LARGE: Minimizing yourself and maximizing your life! When you have over 100 pounds to lose it can seem impossible to get started in the right direction.
I finished with a total of 733 points. Hit some goals along the way - most importantly getting the new job. Didn't drop the fat like i would have hoped and so will move onto NROL Breakin then fat loss for this purpose.

This challenge was an excellent thing for me. My points overall don't reflect the great benefit this has been. I ended up with 453 points. The big downfall was in my personal goals area. I didn't meet the third one, so I am not taking any points in this area.
Exercise:
I could have got a few more resistance and interval workouts in. That said, I am happy with what I did accomplish. Much better progress in these areas than I've had in the past few months.
Nutrition:
I really worked at this one, and did "ok". It would have been nice to have better nutrition, but I believe I really did better because I was focused on the challenge.
Competitive Goal:
Did well here. Got in two events. A 5k race, and a sprint triathlon. Glad to have accomplished both.
Personal Goals:
Keep journal up to date - did well here. It was fun to do this.
Lose an inch in my waist -- I never actually measured at the start, but clothes are definitely looser on my, so I did well here.
Lose 10 pounds -- this is where I fell short. I ended up loosing 8.5 lbs, so because of this, I didn't take any points for the personal goals area.
This challenge was great in that it kept me inspired to keep at it, and it was a great way to share in others experiences through the whole challenge.
Congrats to everyone who competed in the challenge!

Actually, I can't imagine that reaching a final decision is an easy task. The questions were highly subjective and input may have spanned the entire spectrum.
I'm willing to wait until the powers that be are satisfied that they've done the best job they can.
The tension builds.........

just checking in, how's everyone been doing since the challenge? i got an email from Men's Health and they're having a deal right now with Men's Health Fit, there are a few exercises that supposedly determine just how fit you are by how many reps you can do, looks kinda fun, something to keep me from falling out of routine at least, plus, there's a chance to win an Ipod every day for 100 days http://challenge.menshealth.com/SNC/...E-C843A7669719
Per Newman's request here are the results of the JP Fitness 61 Day Challenge.
Thanks to everyone for participating. There have been ups and downs but hopefully the highs have exceeded the lows. He wants to offer everyone apologies for not getting this information out sooner. Winners and appropriate participants, please submit addresses, sizes, etc to jrnewman2@gmail.com. They will be sent out within the next month.
Overall: Ninja
Nutrition: Victoria
Fitness: Racer Bill
Most Improved: Space City Paula
Mahler Motivation Award: Egham.
Thank you all for being so patient. A new challenge should be started soon. Most people wanted a 1 month/ 4 week sort of deal. Another special thanks to JP for Hosting the forum, Roland for helping compile data and advising, Leigh and Jonathan for troubleshooting and advising, and again everyone who participated.
We'll be back in action soon.

You did an amazing job! You were the clear winner! From the get go, you hit it hard and carried this thing through to the end.
One thing I'd like point out to everyone, is that Nick was a shining example of getting fitter while keeping things in moderation. He didn't do an extreme diet, didn't kill himself with exercise, and didn't limit his food choices. Pretty much everything was fine, as long he kept it in moderation, which he did.
The youngest here, the least extreme diet choice, but he consistently progressed and kept on track, despite the constant on the job temptation of free food (of the hot dog and candy variety, no less). He's an example to the rest of us.
Great job, Nick. Thanks for showing us how it's done.
Congratulations, Nick! You are an inspiration! And, congrats to Bill, Paula and Egham as well. I feel honored to be a part of this group.
Overall, I think this challenge was a complete success for everyone involved. Thank you to everyone behind the scenes as well who pulled this together and kept it going for us.
I look forward to another one soon!!!

I felt more like a motivational sponge, drawing motivation from all the encouragement, kind thoughts, advice, and camaraderie everyone else provided. On top of that, the enthusiastic propensity of some to really mix things up in their own workouts demonstrated to me that workouts don't have to be the same old sorts of things over and over again and has inspired me to do the same with mine. Then there are the new friendships that developed through the Challenge, and the continuing advise, encouragement, sharing,......that has resulted. I'd say that my fellow participants provided not only the motivation I needed to stick with it through the Challenge, they have also provided strong motivation to far more enthusiastically continue my fitness journey.
Thanks everyone!
Newman, thanks for reaching out and pulling me into the Challenge. It got me off my duff and provided a focus that really helped me at a difficult time.
Congratulations, Nick!!! Your win was well deserved......You've earned yourself a good week's worth of subs!
Congratulations to Victoria, Bill and Paula too! All well deserved!
On to the next Challenge!

Egham, Paula, Victoria and Bill are GREAT choices for winners as well!
You guys are all inspiring me to participate in the next one!!
Awesome job everyone!!
Very true!
Victoria stuck with Precision Nutrition through the 61 days. No cheats and very consistent.
Bill was challenged in working on his mobility and corrective exercises. That's like the least exciting aspect of training. Fixing yourself. But, he stuck with it!
Paula. Pretty new to the forums, and her self-improvement was inspiring to so many of us. In the middle of the Challenge, she needed to bump up her calories to get things moving again. Never a fun thing, but she did and STILL lost inches. Way to go, Paula!
Egham was all over the place! In a good way. Popping into log after log, keeping us all motivated and going strong. This, despite having his own personal challenges that could have so easily demotivated HIMSELF. But, his positive attitude didn't let him, or the rest of us down!
I'm proud to have "challenged" alongside all the participants of this Challenge. It was great fun for me, and very motivational! Looking forward to the next one!

One thing I'd like point out to everyone, is that Nick was a shining example...
I'm trying to wrap my mind around seeing "Nick" and "shining example" in the same sentence...
Seriously, Nick -- hearty congratulations, pal! You worked hard and stayed consistent and you're really looking lean these days. I'm glad I got to see the results in person last Tuesday!
Egham -- thanks for the encouragement and helping to keep us going! Congratulations!
Paula -- your enthusiasm is infectious. Congratulations!
Victoria -- I'm so impressed at your consistency. Congratulations!
To all of you who participated, congratulations for making it to the end! Thanks for the cameraderie, the encouragement, and the fun! It's been a great experience.
And I have to say that I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw my name there! I'm honored. Thank you, all. I never would have expected to win an award for something as boring as moblity! Thanks!!!

WOW.... SOrry about not responding to this sooner (life has been keeping me way too busy), but just wow... I had no idea until Red Lefty left a cat picture in my journal.
It was a lot of fun to participate in the challenge and I am honored. Looking forward to the next challenge. Off to relax for the evening!
