Roses: Eating and workouts are "in the zone", haven't had a bad day yet....
Thorns: Can anyone see me on this plateau????? That, plus I just had 4 weeks of unplanned travel for work dumped on me yesterday, so I will need to plan ahead to keep on track.

You need a bodyweight workout, at the very least.
Times like that call for setting yourself up with a focused mentality. Eating and working out will be tough. You can do it.
If you haven't listened to Zach Even-Esh on MaxOutRadio, you should. He talks about how working out doesn't have to be relegated to the gym. Bodyweight and/or odd implements can be all you need. You can find a way. It was very motivational for me.

Craig Ballyntyne offers some extensive Bodyweight training programs through his Turbulence Training website. You would never run out of workouts for on-the-road.

Thorns - Still restricted on weight training due to a back problem. Hot-n-humid weather and being a ridiculously heavy "sweater" make Summer running very difficult, but I deal with that every Summer.
Roses - I ran a 10K trail race on Friday evening, which was on a very challenging hilly, rocky, root-filled single track trail in woods that felt jungle-like after rains earlier in the day. Nutrition good overall, aside from one big splurge with takeout Indian food.

Thorns: Was extremely unmotivated this past weekend. I got my workout in and it was cool. Getting pictures done turned into an ordeal - Self Tanner Woes and the cord on my laptop got frayed and had to be replaced and then I just wasn't happy with the first set of pictures so I reshot.
Roses: The pictures turned out better than expected and I can see that the weight training is affecting my overall hormone profile in a very positive way. Measurements were better than expected despite last week being light and fluffy. I start NROL's Fat Loss 1 tomorrow. Looking forward to it and dreading it all at the same time.

No thorns yet this week, all roses. Things have been great this last couple days, made some huge improvements. To much to list right now so I will just say that they are all detailed in my log.

Rose - found my Competitive Goal. I will be competing in the Liverpool Radio City "give a child a chance" 5k run. Running with my brother and a few of his police buddies, their aim is to raise money for local underprivileged kids to go on trips e.g to the countryside, a theme park, the seaside etc. Its not earth shattering but will make a difference in their lives

Rose -- had a beautiful weekend, took a little road trip and had a pleasant and clean lunch at a highway rest stop (found a nice picnic table, and ate my carrots, pouch of tuna, yogurt, and apple). That evening went to a buffet dinner with a large group, and resisted the urge to go back for seconds on dessert.
An exercise rose - I found I could comfortably sit cross-legged. I haven't done that since I was a kid. Mobility drills are working!
Thorn -- busy weekend with lack of sleep. After getting away and cheating a bit, it's tough to buckle down and get back on track. There was an astonishing lack of veggies at the buffet. The only vegetable side dish was buttered corn (which, per Mike Roussel, is NOT a vegetable.) I ended up going to the salad bar and getting some raw broccoli and pickled beets. Not great, but at least I ate something besides crab legs, shrimp and dessert.

Still need to update my training log with last weeks workouts. Will do that tomorrow.
Ended up with a couple cheats last week, nothing horrendous. Got in my workouts, and I think I'm down a couple pounds, but I need to check.

Week 2 check in
Rose: Keeping up with my goals as well as I expected I would. Mood much improved. Energy level better.
Found a better way to do my BSS. I was putting the top of my foot (metatarsals) flat on the bench behind my which seemed to hurt my foot and stress the quads in my back leg more. I experimented today and found if I move my foot up a bit and put my talo-navicular area on the corner of the bench and use it as a pivot it really reduced the strain in my foot and the quad of my rear leg.
Thorn: Weigh in yesterday was disappointing. Only .5 lb. down.
