LIVIN' LARGE: Minimizing yourself and maximizing your life! When you have over 100 pounds to lose it can seem impossible to get started in the right direction.
sometimes it takes a second to update (ie 30 seconds)
Where are you entering data and where are you expecting it to go?
Cell examples of what you are entering are great if you have them

I don't mean half days, I mean account for the current day if I have already recorded it. Because if you put in your number for today, your current + remaining is actually higher than the possible.
I put this forumula above the first column of dates:
=VLOOKUP(B5, A24:B36, 2, 1)
That gives me the number recorded for the current day. Then I just subtracted that from the remaining.
I have to fix it so it will do the lookup on the other columns, but right now that will render an annoying error message that it can't find the column, when I know it won't until later in the month.
Problem:
People can't view your sheet. It tells them their e-mail address dosen't have permission or something similar.
Solution:
You have used the share tab instead of the publish tab to get the link for your signature. Open your sheet up and click on Publish in the top right hand side of the sheet. Use the link it displays in here. As well select automatically publish every five minutes.

Today we are on Day 2. 60 1/2 blocks remaining total possible before we start or 120.
I understand that if you enter both 1/2 blocks it does not decrease at all.
My logic is that you don't know you have eaten both 1/2 days cleanly until after midnight, really until you get up and start the next day. Maybe you get up and break down in the middle of the night. Who knows.
Personally I think we are splitting hairs. The column is not big enough to put a heading in that says "Maximum 1/2 days remaining including today" Just be aware that's what it is.

Ah gotcha, I wasn't grokking what the confusion was. Also you don't know if I put in 1 because I've gotten through 1/2 the day, or messed up 1/2 a day.
It boils down to when I enter stuff. I tend to open it once at the end of the day and not worry about it.

Basic question I know but can somebody show me how to do the 'my link here' thing which links to your chart. I tried the link button but that just seems to publish the url rather than my own words as the link

When you are editing your signature type the words you want as the link.
Select the words and then click on the icon of the globe and the sideways 8. It will open a window where you can paste your URL for your sheet.

I do believe the proper terminology for this is "Set it and forget it!"

To All: I am very sorry for all of the confusion: For the poorly written rules, for the 8.7 weeks of duration, etc. Og and others bailed me out on the Challenge. I did the best that I could. I am certain that you guys will do better next time.
Per your request, I made this a sticky....

Newman;
You sound a little down here and then you seem to be missing somewhat. Bottom line is that you put yourself out there and got us all started on this great summer quest! I think you did the best that anyone could -- especially for the first time for all of us. You had some great teammates to help you where you needed input and assistance. Regardless, YOU are responsible for making us all work hard to be healthy this summer. Don't sweat the issues that popped up; I don't think anyone holds you accountable for anything.
Thank you for all of your hard work and willingness to help all of us!

shut up
This challenge made me spit out a cookie last night, so it's working as designed.

You better at least have been on a carb re-feed day!

Newman, you have brought us all together in a very unique way. We are becoming a united front toward conquering our challenges. You guide us in the direction of our goals, help us when we falter, and gently nudge us to keep going when we think we can't. You always have a kind word, and a gentle heart.
We'll simply call you, "The Father".

Thoughts on formatting? Something smaller might be better, but it would have required more effort. This was just a quick 'n dirty attempt to get something working.
This is what I did.
1. Go to the publish tab.
2. Click "More publish options"
3. Set the items like in the screenshot.
4. Paste the code into your sig.
Now your sig will automagically update when you update your 61DC (google) spreadsheet.

Thanks! I knew it was possible, but I had no idea they had made it clicky-clicky easy to do. Here I was about to feel all proudly nerdly because I pulled something off really slick... but they already beat me to it.
I tweaked it a bit. I created a new sheet, and put a formula in there that uses CONCATANATE() to put togethter all the information in a single cell, then updated the iframe to just reference that cell.
If you want to see what I did, PM me and I'll give you access to my spreadsheet.
