Hey,

My story is like most the stories here. At 28 y.o. in 2002 I was 5"8' , 250-ish, chain smoked three packs a day and lived on fast food. One day I thought I was gonna die walking up one flight of steps. After a lot of work I managed to get myself down to 195 at one point, but have since bulked up a bit.

The main difference is in how I feel and what I like to do. If you told me five years ago I would be doing atg squats for reps at 225 for fun, or that I could pull 335 I would have laughed. If you told me I could do 12 dead-hang chin-ups I would have told you to get off the crack

I'm not as dilligent with my eating as I should be, but I think the progress I've made is pretty good. Current specs on Mac 2.0:

32 year old male
5"8'
206 lbs
5K jog 44 minutes
335 deadlift
225 atg squat

My only goal is to cut down 11 lbs by the end of this year but not lose any strengh. I like being the "call him to move this" guy

Thanks for all the support I've found on this forum.

mac

2003. My friend Don and me. 235lbs. I don't think it matters which is which...

2004. A year or so later. 165lbs.

Yesterday. 195lbs.

I've made some promises about progress pics. I can take better, but we'll start with these.

Very impressive LD. Much effort went into that 70lb loss.

Congratulations.

That's incredible progress, Lost Dog!

I'm still in progress towards becoming a "big loser." Last April I weighed at least 335lbs, possibly more since it was hard to find a scale that went up that. I started with walking and cleaning up my diet, then bought the TT for fat loss e-book, and I've been following that for the past 5 1/2 months, now down to 270. Still have a long way to go, but I'm looking forward to getting under 200lbs, I can't remember the last time my weight's been under 250! 1 day at time...

That's some great progress. TT's an amazing program. It was a big part of my success.

Have you taken any progress pics? It's hard to do (I didn't). I regret not having any, now. Take some and file them away to see how far you've come.

The other thing I wish I could go back and do is have tests taken (cholesterol, blood pressure, etc.). I was too embarrassed to do it, then.

I did keep track of milestones, though. My transition from "obese" to "overweight," then to "healthy weight," for instance. Hitting "healthy weight" was a big thing for me. It's better than my birthday to me.

Yeah, I've kept him updated on my progress, and he's great about answering any questions through e-mail.

Lost Dog: I took pictures the day before I started, and I've tried to remember to take some every 8 weeks or so. I actually carried around a picture of me @335 for about the first month. Whenever I thought about going off the diet or skipping a workout, just looking at that got rid of any temptations.

Good call. My before pics are blurry webcam ones, but they serve the purpose.

Congrats on your loss Eustace, keep it up!

The single largest defining moment for me in this journey and it's weird because it happened early on, was seeing that scale fall below 300lbs.

I have things I like that I can do now, push-ups, chin-ups now, I am more active in general, I have done a beginner triathlon etc etc, but for some reason when that scale dropped to 299, I was ecstatic!

Og.

I felt that way when the scale went below 200. Now I'm looking at 10s, so the next milestone is consistantly < 180lbs. Hopefully by EOM.

Love the shoulders Roland! You've come a long way. I also find it very inspirational that you know so much about training and nutrition now. You are not only healthy and handome now, but you are also smarter!
