Default Post your logs/blogs/journals

I, like all of you am overweight. I know what its like being self-conscious and wishing you could be the fit, sculpted vision of yourself that you know you can be. I also know what its like trying to stay motivated during the process and in the slow periods when you aren't seeing the gains you would like.

In order to stay motivated and to keep ourselves accountable a friend and I have started our own blogs that we post in daily to get our thoughts, stresses out and comment on our progress etc. So I am inviting everyone else to post a link to their own training logs, blogs, or journals and let others help keep you accountable and motivated. If you have to go online and post that you had McD's for lunch then just maybe knowing all those other people will be keeping you accountable may just give you that little push to skip it and go for something healthier.

So, here is the link to my blog, and feel free to share your own. Together we can win this battle against the bulge.

Hey Bulldog. I agree with rgv, that is a very detailed blog. I will have to see if I can keep up with one. I tend to be extremely busy and a blog would suffer. My paper training log however, never gets missed since I always have it with me. I will see what I can do to be more faithful in a blog format...

Good luck and keep up the good work.

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce my wife, Kristen, to the forums. She signed up here (her name is Sidonia) and has been browsing around a bit. Maybe a welcome here will get her to post.

She has been battling with her weight for a good part of her life and was working with a personal trainer and starting to make some really good progress. Due to health problems, she was unable to go to the gym for a few months and she is finally starting to get back into her old routine.

Walking into a gym can be quite an intimidating experience for someone who doesn't look like a bodybuilder. So, she just started a blog to talk about some of her experiences at the gym, and everyday issues that people that are Livin' Large have to deal with.

Welcome to the boards Sidonia. I definately know how intimidating it can be to go to a gym when it seems like everyone else is years ahead of you and you feel like you are being judged. What helps me is bringing my own Ipod and zoning out and listening to my music or, just watch some of those other guys, see all the mistakes and inefficient methods they use and have a good laugh to yourself. I think starting your blog to get out your thoughts and feelings about it is a great idea and is exactly what I have done. I find that even when I think I have a clear view of everything in my mind, when I go to express it in writing I find it is a lot more clouded then I believed.

Everyone here at JP is great and full of knowledge so never be afraid to post and ask questions.

PS. Thanks to those that have said my blog is detailed. I try to keep it as accurate as I can to limit my ability to stray from the path, and as I have said before helps me organize my thoughts.

Thanks Sign! 8) I hope soon to actually have something more to post here, maybe when I start seeing some results again. It's hard to believe that I went so many years without fitness in my life. It makes me so much happier, and motivates me in all areas of my life. My husband and I now have something new to share and goals we can help each other achieve. I hope to be around some more...thanks so mcuh for the welcome!

Kristen, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Feel free to post even when you aren't getting results. Here at Livin' Large and JP's, we aren't fairweather friends... I look forward to hearing more from you....

Welcome, Kristen!

Sign, you've got me thinking. I might start a new workout log (it's been more than a year since the last one) and also keep track of my food in there, too, just to be accountable. Last couple of months haven't been really great.

Well, I've posted this in other threads, but since you asked...

My new blog can be found in my signature. It is a one year attempt at fat loss. I started today at 307.8 and hope to lose 78 pounds over the next year.

I'm a newb here but I've been on message boards for years so I know the etiquette. Earlier this year I decided I was going to lose weight and Blog every week of my weight loss. I'm in week 12 right now and so far I've lost 60 lbs. I've got at least another 100 to go.

My blog is at http://bigdweightloss.blogspot.com

Welcome BigDavis. Consistency in blogging is something I suffer at. I will have more time this summer and will work more at it. I think part of my problem is that I am trying to write something I think people will be interested in. I think I will just start focusing on things that interest me and hope you guys like it too... I'll keep an eye on your blog and keep up the good work. Thanks for introducing yourself....
