Great job, stingo. Not to take away from what you have accomplished but what are your future goals?
Welcome to the forums.

Having goals certainly does not take away from past accomplishments - in fact it helps keep them at the fore. Right now I'd like to get stronger, and still lose weight, but focus on the former.

My weight has always been up and down. I was once 200lbs gained it fast and well lost it fast...........about 6 years ago.
The last 2 years my weight has been about 131-134 lbs
Starting in March on my "diet" I was 131.6lbs w/ up and downs unil end April.
May 1st: 131.4 lbs
June 1st: 128lbs
NOW: 125.6 lbs
LOST 6 lbs
What did I do different from March-April : May-now:
1. Actually eating at 11xbw.......consistantly
2. training the same but with lower vol
3. Eating more intuitvely..........yet at a defecit!
* btw had a diet break for 11 days in June and my 1st cheat meal 2 weeks ago.............still losing so far!!!!!

Welcome, Stingo and Mjanessan! Both of you have really made some impressive weight-loss accomplishments!
Mjanessan -- we're former neighbors. I'm originally from Rochester, NY myself, now in Kansas City.

First off, Newman- another great thread started by you!!
It is great to hear all the big numbers people have dropped. Also nice tio hear from so many new members. Welcome to the boards!!!!
Amusing to hear that Chris put Chris down at the summit!
My story is not as impressive as many of the folks here but here ist is: I started at 5'7" 170 lbs 30 % BF on Tanita, and went down to about 138 at 17-18 % ( a bit lighter than I want to be) and now am at 148 ( a good weight for me) and 19-20 %BF, and would like to take that below 15 % but am in the a similar mental position as Chris- wondering if I want to sacrifice family meals for vanity (But I am vain LOL)
suppose I have lost about 35 pounds of fat while gaining muscle. So a big thanks to all the JP people who have answered all my questions and given so much encouragement. For the newcomers I would lie to say: welcome, do not be shy, ask almost anything and someone will know the answer and more importantly many people will try to help. This is a great site, take advantage of it and contributing is NOT ONLY answering questions, but asking them. When you ask a question the contributers gain beause they think about and all the other members who read also benefit.
When I was a newcomer I was very hesitant to ask for or offer advice. Everyone was great so I have no qualms about asking- as far as giving advice goes, I am more of a weekend warrior and do not have much expertise, so I usually am limited in where I can offer useful info.
I think that the best advice I can give people here is to participate and enjoy the forum because there are some great people here.

I talk too much!
I'm a 50+ loser. Again.
I lost 72lbs after my son was born way back in the olden days of my late 20s. Considering I lived on coffee, cheerios, low fat microwave popcorn, and magaritas every weekend, I really don't how I did it.
I quit smoking 2 years ago and gained 40 (in about 5 weeks - I'm not exaggerating - hostess cupcakes are yummy when you feel like you want to die). That 40lbs was on top of the 30 or so I'd accumulated from all the beer, California car bombs, and endless hours playing computer games during the second coming of my adolescence in my 30s. Hey I was suddenly single. Time for some fun (finally)!!
At 40 things apparently don't work like they did at 28. Still having a hard time wrapping my (seemingly) 28 year old, if that, brain around that one. Grow old gracefully? No. I'm not growing old. Ever.
It took me 15 months to lose 45lbs. It's a really good thing I'm the most stubborn person on the face of the earth. I don't take no when I don't want to take no. Period.
My waist measurement increasing while the scale wouldn't budge, even though I was low cal, no sugar or bad carbs to speak of for a year, and working out 90 minutes a day, was more than I could handle. I knew there was something wrong. My Dr was no help. I think most simply see the (fat) number on the scale and go on eat less/exercise more autopilot. When I told her how much time I spent in the gym, I got the wide-eyed, "Really"? A few times. Given her reaction, I'm fairly sure she didn't believe me. She told me to eat more veggies and sent me home.
So, I started doing research. I've discovered the brilliance of adjusting macro nutrient ratios, not relying on cashews and string cheese for 10% of too few calories for protein, whey (not quite as yummy as hostess cupcakes but...), and something more than 12lb weights! :p
I'm aiming for 26ish more. Still trying to adjust the diet & workout but it seems like things are headed in the right direction.
I'm happy to have found this place!

Congrats cuteamy and riverbender (and welcome to the forums). I have never had a serious weight issue (at the most it's always been 10 lbs to lose). Your stories are inspiring to me nonetheless. It flies in the face of all those who say "I can't I can't I can't". It shows it can be done when you really want to and all it takes is dedication to yourself. I think that's an important point that they miss.
I wish you continued success.

Nice going - I guess I never had a 2nd coming of adolescence since I've always been one for computer games. And congrats on making the decision to turn your life around.
