Well here goes...
I have started to have a problem in my right shoulder, it is a burning/pulled muscle feeling in my lateral and anterior deltoid when I squat, overhead press and do tricep exercises like skullcrushers that require a bent elbow position.
I went to see my chiro last week and he said it could possible be I have bicipital tendonitis (sp?) because my right bicep close to my shoulder is also very tight and can feel "pulled" at times. There is no real sharp pain but the pain does go up into my traps it feels like it is #2 in this diagram from exrx:
I should be noted that I just started bench pressing again with a bar for the first time in a long while. I do not feel any pain when I press and in fact have been steadily increasing my max the last 3 weeks.
I told my chiro that the weight I am pushing is not affected by this problem and only hurts between sets and he said then most likely it is a joint problem not a muscle problem. However, I only feel it in my muscles and there is no clicking or pain when I move my shoulder around.
Sitting here now it also feels like a mild throbbing in my infraspinatus as well to the lateral, anterior delt and the right bicep. I just got home from the gym and I was squatting.
I should also say that I just started Westside about 5 weeks ago now and I have been going really hard could this possibly just be my body not used to the workload? (prior to Westside I was doing RR&D..a much less demanding program)
My questions are from what I have said is it more of a muscle or joint problem and would ART help? Or would just staying off of it help?
My muscles for the most part just feel tight and a little sore most of the time but there is a fair bit of pain overhead pressing and squatting mostly. I am really hoping to nail this problem before it gets any worse.
I hope this is enough information to go on, thank you for your time.
