Last week I noticed that my right arm was a little more sore than usual after lifting. When at work the next day I noticed that it would make a snapping sound when straitening it out, but it didn’t hurt anymore while making this sound. Depending on which way I have my hand turned the under side of my elbow seems to have a spontaneous pain shoot through it when straitening my arm out. It has gotten better over the last week, the snapping sound has gone away, but this pain kind of concerns me, what do you think is going on here?

You need to clarify where the pain is...not sure what you're referring to as the underside of the elbow. Try to find a reference pic on the web to refer to a then we may be able to offer some assistance.

As well as specifics about what kind of lifting you were doing; and which way your hand was turned when you had the spontaenous pain; and where the pain was.

I feel the pain on the under side my elbow, around the funny bone area, mostly on the inside. There is also quite a bit of pain on the opposite side, to the right of where they would draw blood.

To hear the crack:
Put your arm straight out in front of you with your palm facing up, now bend your wrist up so your fingers point up at the ceiling, now bend your arm at your elbow as if your going to put something in your mouth. This is where I hear the crack, as soon as my fingers are pointed at my face and my forearm is pointed at the ceiling.

To feel the most pain:
Put your arm straight out in front of you with your palm facing up, now twist your wrist so your palm faces down, during this twist is when I feel the most pain, and I feel it on both sides of my arm.

Sometimes the pain comes on so fast and so sharp it feels like it is locking up, and sometimes it feels like it’s going to brake if I continue to push through the motion. A lot of times I get this while laying in bed reading, holding the book over my head, laying on my back facing toward the ceiling.

The type of lifting:
I do several arm exercises and I really don’t feel much while exercising, if I had to choose tricep pull downs is where I feel it the most. Other than that I do all the normal arm curls, and that’s about it.

Hope this helps you.
