Hey all....

Since I see many posts by all different types of professionals in this forum I thought maybe there is someone who is or knows a lot about physical therapy as a career.
Is anyone a physical therapist and can anyone give me any info on how descent of a career it is?

Thanks in advanced...

Out here in Kansas City, it looks like they make about 55K to 67K. That's decent.

The national average is 54K to 65K.

These numbers are all from salary.com.

My mom is a semi-retired PT, and from my perspective, as an outside observer, it looks like a career that can be both very rewarding and very frustrating.

Pros
Pays reasonably well
Lots of jobs available
Get to help people
Positive effects of your job can be readily seen

Cons (or why she semi-retired)
Bureaucracy - lots of paperwork and bs as a result of government regulations, liability, insurance companies, etc.
Long hours - usually a result of the bureaucracy
Office/hospital politics - but these are present at any job.
