I've been experiencing some discomforts along my spinal cords. It bothers me when i stand & walk, especially when i sit down. Whenever i sit down & slouch my body a bit, my spine feels so stiff & a bit painful. What i mean by stiff here is that as if i don't have any flexibility over there on the joints (as if my spinal cords are made of 1 whole bone), & the spinal bones feel like it's going to come off or break. A good description would be like bending your finger on the wrong/opposite direction. So, i have to sit so straight to kind of ease the pain. I usually do a core training consisting of bridges, which helps me ease the pain for about 15 minutes afterward before the pain starts to come again. Today, i found out that whenever i massaged along my spines, it hurts. I don't know what's wrong with my back. This discomfort makes me have to lie down so often because it hurst.

First of all, stop working out until this goes away. I really wouldn't tempt fate when your spinal column is in question.

What exercises have you been doing?

Seeing a doctor might be a good idea about now.

If you stand with your back against a wall, with your bum against the wall and your shoulder blades/upper back against the wall, does the back of your head touch the wall, or do you have to push it back against the wall?

Do you have any joint swelling (fingers joints, knees, toes)?

Are you typically more stiff in the morning? And if so, how long does it take for you to get going?

Are there any movements/activities that make your pain worse or better?

Have you had any infections in the past year (conjuncitivitis, urethritis, gastrointestinal problems, chlamydia, gonorrhea)?

The back of my head touches the wall normally.

Do you have any joint swelling (fingers joints, knees, toes)?
Nope.. none at all.

Are you typically more stiff in the morning?
Hm, i feel stiff at the spine, really uncomfortable, but it doesn't prevent me from doing any normal activity.

And if so, how long does it take for you to get going?
Not long, i kind of get used to the discomfort feeling i tend to ignore it now.

Are there any movements/activities that make your pain worse or better?
Whenever i'm finish with my workouts which consist most of compound movements, especially hip dom workouts. Nowadays, sitting too long will make my spine kind of hurt. So.. i can't sit too long. Either i have to walk around or lay down.

Have you had any infections in the past year (conjuncitivitis, urethritis, gastrointestinal problems, chlamydia, gonorrhea)?
Not at all.

So, if you didn't ignore your pain, how long does it take to get going in the morning?

And does finishing your workout make it worse or better?

Do you have a family history of joint pain or related diseases?

So, if you didn't ignore your pain, how long does it take to get going in the morning?
Maybe a while. Usually i just ignored the discomfort feeling because i need to get to work since i live so far away from work. But if i don't try to ignore the pain, maybe it'll take me a while. It feels so stiff in the morning as if i don't have any joints in my spines.

And does finishing your workout make it worse or better?
After a core training consisting of plank, side plank, & birddog, it feels fine. I guess that's because the TA muscles are so tight that they kind of support the spines for a while. After a whole workout, i usually feel the regular discomfort.

Do you have a family history of joint pain or related diseases?
I really don't know about this one. I don't know any history about my family .

In minutes, how long does it take in the morning to feel not stiff if you do not ignore it.

2-5 minutes, maybe. The thing is, i just have to move, stand, or lie down. If i keep on sitting, or hunch while standing, the "feels like it's gonna snap" on the spines is back again.

You might consider seeing a rheumatologist. It doesn't sound like your pain is muscular (i.e. pain caused by tight muscles or somesuch). Do you get buttocks pain? Either way, it would probably be worth getting an x-ray of your spine or some sort of imaging and having it looked at, as it is possibly the precursor to something more serious. Or it could be nothing serious at all, so don't panic yet. But this is not a normal problem to have from just training or activities of daily living/working.

Yeah, i don't think my pain is muscular. I'm pretty much active, & my body's quite flexible since i used to be a TKD athlete. I'm just sure that the discomfort is on the bones. My wife now just massages me with her thumbs, & i can feel the pain whenever she presses & rubs her thumbs along the spines. For now i just use those muscle patches on the spines. I don't have a buttock pain.. my wife does. Anyway, thanx a lot for ur time checking my discomfort, though.
