Today is what I consider my first hardcore leg workout. That is because I have been learning the proper form for squats the past 2 weeks but I haven't incorported them into a full leg workout until today. I train under Max-OT principes so my leg day is squats(4 warmup sets+3 work sets), leg press machine(2 sets), and romanian deadlifts(1 wieght acclimation set+ 2 work sets).

Anyways, I am still kinda figuring out how much wieght I can handle for squats to get in that 4-6 rep range for Max-OT. For my first 2 work sets I was lifting 185lbs and I got to 6 reps and felt that I had more in me. So for my thrid set I added 20lbs for 205lbs total. I was planning on getting a solid 5 reps with this weight. Well I was on my 3rd rep(on the way down) and I felt a pop in my mid-lower back area...it didn't hurt that much...it was like the feeling when you crack your knuckles. I finished the rep and did 2 more reps without pain...just a lil hesitation. I continued my workout with a little concern, but nothing hurt.

Well, when I got to my RDLs I wasn't able to keep my back as flat as usual. I am not sure if it was because I was fatigued more than usual(I am used to starting out with RDLs instead of finising with them) or if I was just aprehensive cus of what happened before.

Well, now about an hour later my back doesn't hirt but it kinda feels funny...maybe a lil sore...but no pain. Should I be worried? Can someone analyze what happened during my workout today? Thanks

When I do a Max-OT leg day I split up the quad-hamstring exercises. So I'll do squats, RDL's, lunges, reverse hypers (my current routine). This way the quads can rest while I'm working hammies, and vice versa. But this week I couldn't get through RDL's either. They were last and I was beat. A good leg day.

Thanks Oldguy, that makes more sense. So maybe I should do squats, RDLs, and then leg press. I also do calfs after...just 5 sets.

Anyone have a response to what happnened during squats...I am a little concerned that I might have injured my back.
