I get huge pain in my hip area, both sides, when I run. I have good shoes, and it's not a cramp (I get those too, dif. matter). The longer I run, the worse it gets. The pain is right where you can sort of feel a bone at the sides of your butt. What's up with this???

Perhaps we should make a sticky for this forum. Obligatory questions:

When did the hip pain start?
Have you ever injured your hip?
Was the onset of pain when your pain started sudden or gradual?
How about now?
What makes your pain worse other than running?
Does anything make it better?
Where in your hip is the pain?
Is there any swelling or redness?
Do you have any other joint pains?
Can you describe the pain?
Do you have any pre-existing hip or other medical issues?
How old are you?
Do you feel generally healthy otherwise?
Do you have any problems peeing or pooping?

No, peeing and pooping problems can be related to hip pain.

When I asked about now, do you still get pain on running, and has it changed at all?

Can you differentiate between 'soreness' and 'bad pain'? If so, is this just soreness?

When you say you have knee, wrist and ankle pain, can you be more specific? A 15 year old does not typically have these pains unless they're related to injury or over-activity.

If the pain persists, make an appointment with your physician.
