Hi everyone I have a little back pain in the upper center of my back when I perform rows (Seated on a machine). Its right in the middle where my shoulder blades meet. I try to do it with perfect form and I think I am. Does anyone else get similar back pain in this area? Is it because its too much weight? I feel as though I am able to perform it well with the current weight Im using. If anyone knows why this is happening and/or how to fix the problem please let me know. Thanks in advanced.

It's not uncommon to allow the spine to flex forward slightly when leaning against the pad. My recommendation is to get off the machine and learn to perform barbell, dumbbell, and cable rows with a neutral spine posture.

If you must perform machine rows, maintain as vertical a spine alignment as possible and don't try to overstretch forward.

Thanks for the response but I'm sorry if I am unclear, I do these on a cable sation. Will that make a difference?

It's possible to do the same thing when performing them with a cable. As you reach forward make sure that your spine is upright.
