I was reading over at Rugged about using long eccentrics to help with tendonitis, have you ever heard of this and do you have any idea the reasoning behind it?

Is this anything like the oscillatory isometrics we talked about at the retreat last year?

Nope. I they are just referring to slower tempo eccentrics. Although Oscillartory Isos can be effective later in the rehab stage to regain some elasticity. bryanc's tennis elbow protocol also uses an fast eccentric.

FYI...tendonitis is losing favor in the medical community as biopsies are not showing any inflammatory cells. Tendonosis is now preferred which is indicative of degeneration of the tendon.

Eccentrics tend to load the muscle more at the attachments which may be why eccentrics have been effective.
